@StarlyPro22 WHAT??? PC is the greatest thing to be made ever ever ever ever! If it were for computers, you would not have your iPhones and your blackberries and you HTC's
@RobloxSodaTeam Auto reload is for people who want to reload THAT much faster, since there's no penalty for reloading in TF2 (i.e, you can switch weapons or fire any remaining ammo in mid-reload unlike most shooters).
@LouisAndPillz im selling my brand new XFX 4850 1gb card for 65. It was an old RMA and XFX sent me a brand new card with the box and all the accessories. I was keeping it as a back up for my 5770 since the fps is almost equal but now im upgrading from the 5770 :)
@TheNaryyy My computer can also run EVERY GAME on the HIGHEST settings. But is it playable? Can you run Crysis 2, Dirt 3 and Battlefield Bad Company 2 on the HIGHEST settings and it is playable? running 60+ fps all the time? I can run EVERY GAME on the HIGHEST settings on a Pentium 2, 256 mb ram and a fucking old graphics card if I want to, but is it playable? no.
And ram doesn't make games goes faster, but 2 GB is fucking to little to max all games. 4 GB is like minimum to max all games.
@prixthkson God damnit. It runs Crysis on the highest settings and 60 fps. Bad Company 2 120 fps highest settings. Battlefield 3 60 fps NOT THE HIGHEST but the high settings ( you need a NASA super computer to do that) Enough?
@TheNaryyy what spec's do you got? I've got: Intel i7 920 @ 4.2 GHz, Gainward Phantom2 GeForce GTX 560Ti 2GB, 6 GB 1600MHz ram. And I can't even run Crysis, Battlefield Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3 on the highest settings on 60 fps ALL THE TIME when i play. I've got around 40-60 fps, but not 60 fps all the time. One more thing, what resolution do you have when you play games? I play on 1680 x 1050.
@TheNaryyy Your resolution tells everything. And one more thing. I can run Battlefield 3 on Ultra with 40-60 fps. But that's because i run at 1680 x 1050 (my screen can only have 1680 x 1050). 40-60 fps maybe sounds horrible, but it's smooth. Maybe because i never had a screen that supports 120 fps. So i don't think you need a NASA computer to max it out. Maybe if you playing at 4000 x 3000, i dunno.
TF2 used to run on every possible PC, even if you still had an old ass DX8 card and a single core processor you would still run TF2 with solid fps, nowadays it just depends if you're lucky. My fps isn't bad, it's still very playable but compared to my older FPS it's much worse, before 2009 the minimum fps i would get was 50 and max was around 200 or more even. Nowaday the minimum is 30 and max is around 100 for me also the game constantly keeps crashing on map changes : / .
@Thryack sad for you, because I can run TF2 at 60 fps on the highest settings possible. If you get 70fps on other new games, you should get 70 fps on tf2. Because TF2 doesn't have great graphics. But still, I like it.
@Thryack Iv'e got Intel Core i7 920 OC @ 3.2Ghz, 6 GB 1600Mhz and a GTX 560Ti 2GB. If you didn't notice, they update the game often. I don't think Valve are so fucking dumb to not make the games playable to day. I don't know your problem, maybe the game have a poor Crossfire support or something.
@prixthkson I have a tiny bit weaker of a pc and it runs fine... no lag, no glitch... and @GreenGiantShit yeah it is because the new updates are coming in right now but about a week afterwards their will be no problems whatsoever... @Thryack so you know why these problems appear...
@Lukasmbtv $300 ready assembled from a store? Well that's what you get.
PC components are designed to be assembled by anyone but that means only a human can do it, their labour costs a lot, the result is the cheaper/weaker components.
That and PCs built for retail are entirely work-focused (poorly matched for gaming), and compromised with pre-loaded crapware.
Solution: buy $300 worth of components then assemble them yourself. Cut out the middle-man.
Funny how my pc costs more than yours, it is £345 and thats is like $700 and yours is better Amd phenom x3 2.1ghz 8400 ECS GeForce 6100-PM-M2 motherboard 2GB corsair ddr2 ram ( ddr2-800 2 x 1gb) 500gb western digital caviar blue 16mb cache sata some cheap case for £29.99 CIT 500w psu which came with the case Sapphire HD 4670 1GB and a few performance fans which were cheap. >.< you know I would of had a hd 4890 If I had researched about psu's first! Why is your build so much cheaper and better
My computer's weird. It lags horribly, but the connection's fine because I used the same connection on my old PC before it broke. My graphics card is fine too, because it lags the same amount on HD as it does with all the settings on min.
Something is strange about my PC... it lags horribly, but there's nothing wrong with the connection. I know it can't be the graphics card because it lags the same amount on HD as it does with all the setting at minimum. What's the problem?
@Oephi you say that although you probably should know that they are very powerful computers graphics wise and proccesor wise... so yeah a normal pc for a 3rd of the price is gonna get owned in terms of performance...
dang thats pretty impressive... making a $300 pc that can run tf2 at an average fps of 134... on MAXED settings lol. i have like an $850 factory built and it averages around 35-45 fps :/
That is because I was using FRAPS. It records the game at a certain frame rate to minimize the file size making it easier to upload videos. If I recorded at 100+ FPS then the video would have been too large to upload on youtube.
134 FPS. Check out the article. A link is in the video description. It would be impossible to do it completely through newegg considering the taxes and shipping cost needed to be paid. Instead we used things like ebay, craigslist and a couple of online sites.
It depends on your location. I saw the exact same model we used being sold for $70 a couple of weeks ago, I was in shock. 9800 GTX pop up in C.A at around $70-$100.
People won't pay anything close to retail if it's used so there are a lot of bargains out there for used part buyers.
That is because This was recorded with FRAPS. I limited the FPS to be around 48 so the video files will not be so huge. When you record game footage using a video recording program a 6-10minute video can be 6-10GBs. If I recorded at 100+ the files would have been 20+ GB, way too huge to upload on youtube.
I got the average by playing back the demo and recording the average fps using fraps.
I have a question. I'm completely new to pc gaming. What would be the cheapest pc possible to run Valve's games on maximum settings, without me having to build it myself?
I've been looking at custom pc builder's, but they cost over $1000, and can run games that I'm not really looking to play, but I can't get anything less than that.
If you know any websites or have any info, it would be much appreciated.
From the top of my head it will cost around $650 to run all of Valve's games on max settings without lag IF you choose to go with brand new parts and pay tax + shipping + OS.
With this $300 dollar pc build we were able to do run all of Valve's games at max settings
My best advice for someone in you're situation would be to buy the hardware and go to a local pc cafe and ask if they can build it, they charge around $35 an hour (3 hour job).
I can help with the parts to buy if you need advice!
Also, to cut labor cost more you should also look into putting all of the pc hardware together and take the PC to a local cafe to have them install the OS which will take about 1.5 hours to cut cost.
Connecting the hardware is very easy, just takes some small precautions.
If you can get a FREE OS (operating system) then you can build a new Valve Gaming PC for around $550 after tax and shipping
After labor cost at a local pc cafe building it for you it comes out to around $600-650.
I live in the UK and I really need a new pc...playing at 10-15 fps on minimum settings!
Can you tell me how much this is likely to cost in £, and/or where I can get these parts? I know someone very nice who would be willing to assemble them for me :)
I bought a $400 laptop and it runs it HORRIBLE.

according to ur net graph_3 ur fps wer around 45ish... not 150 or wot evs?
joshizposh1379 2 years ago
That is because I was using FRAPS. It records the game at a certain frame rate to minimize the file size making it easier to upload videos. If I recorded at 100+ FPS then the video would have been too large to upload on youtube.

ok but how much fps u where getting without fraps and where did u get all the parts? new egg??
alexnhl12 2 years ago
134 FPS. Check out the article. A link is in the video description. It would be impossible to do it completely through newegg considering the taxes and shipping cost needed to be paid. Instead we used things like ebay, craigslist and a couple of online sites.

ok but its forgiven to find a 9800gtx at 90 bucks its a joke....
alexnhl12 2 years ago
It depends on your location. I saw the exact same model we used being sold for $70 a couple of weeks ago, I was in shock. 9800 GTX pop up in C.A at around $70-$100.
People won't pay anything close to retail if it's used so there are a lot of bargains out there for used part buyers.

@alexnhl12 I found my BFG 9800 GT 1gb VRAM card at staples of all places lol, and it was on sale for 70 dollars.

@GameChalkBoard You can only get 60 fps max so stfu and your pc sucks
deluxer321 6 months ago
@deluxer321 you should stfu, maximum fps is like endless.
if your screen have 60 Hz and a game run at 120 fps. still, you can only see 60 fps because your screen only have 60 Hz
60Hz = 60 Fps / 70Hz = 70 Fps / 75Hz = 75 Fps / 80Hz = 80 Fps / 90Hz = 90 Fps / 100Hz = 100 Fps /
120Hz = 120 Fps

whats AA and AAF and do u rly need it?
joshizposh1379 2 years ago
how much fps are you gettin in this vid and wat graphic settings?
xLilxkid24 2 years ago
134 average FPS @ 1650X1050 max texture and model settings with 4X AA and 8X AF
GameChalkBoard 2 years ago
the video shows it only has an average of 46 fps
xLilxkid24 2 years ago

Thanks. A bit more expensive than what I was looking for though. Oh well, my wait will just be a little bit longer.
Once again, thank you for all tips.

Yes, the operating system is around $100, if you can get an OS for free that would knock down the price $100 or so.

$300 worth of PC parts able to play TF2 with decent framerates? An overclocking miracle, I can say :)

I live in the UK and I really need a new pc...playing at 10-15 fps on minimum settings!
Can you tell me how much this is likely to cost in £, and/or where I can get these parts? I know someone very nice who would be willing to assemble them for me :)
