You know what, go to hell. There is nothing courageous about it. Freedom of Information Acts should, by their nature, NEVER be dismissed or rejected. Admiration for Obama releasing these memos is one of the saddest things I have ever read. It is his duty, labelling this as another act of character is pathetic.

The US has an intelligence service that can't keep secrets. Disband the CIA, and turn over all intelligence gathering activities to the Defense Intelligence Agency. Leaks from DIA are covered under the UCMJ, not civilian law. Leakers can be imprisoned at hard labor. The CIA is a disgrace.
One thing is for sure: Obama is no friend of intelligence service personnel. Service personnel will be targeted and perhaps killed by his imprudent action.

Anybody with enough balls can indict Bush--Bugliosi writes about this in his latest book. Here's the thing: if Obama pardons those involved, then what that does is admit, without a doubt, that a law WAS broken. Obama seems to want to eat and have his cake. Or: he's going to have to shit or get off the pot. If he does nothing, it's still something: it sends a message that, yes, not only can the US torture, but he could torture as well. It's about accountability.
