this happens when an insect or animal eats a parasite infested thing the parasites can take over the brain and all the other organs (thats why its brownish) so that praying mantis is dead and the parasites will be eaten by another thing, and so on. ;)
no in alll reality it probably ate a fly or moth or squashbug with eggsand the eggs hatched inside the praying mantis feeding on its flesh from the inside out killing it
they did in fact eat her from the inside out. You have to be careful what you feed to them. Next time, if there is a next time, and I'm not trying to be mean here, you might want to research what to feed them. Moths, ants, house flies, fruit flies and even meal worms are appropriate to feed to them. I don't know what you fed her, but if you can recall, we can figure this out.
According to some people they were implanted by a botfly into the praying mantis, so you should have killed them to make the botfly mother's efforts worthless muahahahahahahahahahaha btw this praying mantis wasn't fast enough and probably went through an awfull amount of pain she or he got eaten from inside out just picture that happening to you muhahahahahahahahaha............... peace out
No. A fly meets a mosquito or another human eating creature and lays eggs on it. when that creature lands the eggs fall ontop of the host and when hatched, they make holes in skin and eat through you for 2 weeks tops and then turn into flys afterwards and leave your body
i have been rearing juvenile giant asian mantis i catch from the wild for some time. i reared some i caught from hatchling stage and have lost a few to the same larvae. those larvae will hatch into fly greenish black with 2 prongs at end of each feet. i think they seek out and infect mantis egg cases.
They look like botfly larvae; I've never seen them in insects, but it's possible since the larvae is tinier than a mosquito when they are first deposited on the skin of another. The mantis probably died from the infestation, which most other animals don't die from. It's typical for the larvae to flee from its dead host. There are many videos on YouTube w/ botflies leaving dead rabbits & squirrels, etc. I don't think that these are horsehair worms since horsehair worms are long, thin & black.

Botfly larva , the fly lays an egg ontop of the host and when it hatches it digs in and eats away till its fully grown
