  • hello Dustin & Ally, could you tell me what the dipping/ rolling move is at 1:53 please? do you have a demonstration of how to do this move? thanks very much.

  • ally's ass is scrumptious

  • I use this video to help local dancers encourage for blues dancing. Both leads and follows here (Budapest, Hungary) are way to 'afraid' of blues: much too closed, much too sensual, much easy to misinterpret.

THANK YOU for postin', keep on doin' you goog job.

  • Not to be rude, but sweet jesus, she is amazing!!!! You guys do really well!!!

  • Simply fabulous! Thanks for sharing.

  • Thx...I'll practise with my gf first thing :D

  • i've fallen in love with this dance! looking forward to your next blues session in OSU

  • 1:48, did he lead that?

  • which song is that? great video! should we increase the speed when the tempo of the song is increased too?

  • I'm booking a blues band for my wedding. I need to be able to dance like this, really. It's very sexy. Hope I can pull it off!

    Are you guys a couple?

  • What song is this?

  • Nice guitar piece: Shuggie Otis Bootie Cooler.

  • nicely done

  • 1:53 - absolutely love the body roll combo for the follow's part!

  • DANG! you guys are so awesome! blues dancing is so awesome I can barely stand it! And there's (practically) nothing in my area! ah well... keep on doing your thing, more videos would be great for us blues deprived.

  • Great lessons, breakdown, and demo. I've learned a lot that I've taken to the floor at Blues Kitchen LA.

  • Don't have any shoes...?

  • this is portland... very casual. shoes or no shoes, it's alright.

  • @AnonBatch If you're going to wear shoes on a wood studio floor, you have to have nice ones that won't scuff it up. Most people I know find it easier (and cheaper) just to wear socks.

  • dang, 10k views on a blues dance video. nice work.

  • your vids are so awesome...watching these help me feel more confident when I go dancing!

  • good :)

  • Check out SHUGGIE OTIS BOOTIE

    COOLER.

  • I have been searching for this type of instruction for a very long time. I didn't even know what to call it. The name of the dancing. I knew I liked to dance to the blues, but calling it "Blues Dancing" now that IS a tricky one.

Is there a way to do this and lead for a partner that is not practiced up? Rather like one could go to a wedding dance and lead during a Waltz.

Instruction in this would be helpful.

    Lee

  • methinx it depends on the partner :)

  • I apologize for the late reply. Blues dancing can certainly be lead well enough to perform the fundamental movement with a partner that doesn't have any previous experience. My primary advice for practicing this would be to limit your own movement to clear, confident fundamentals such as weight shifts and traveling without the addition of musical styling that can often become unnecessary "noise" for your partner to follow. If you move confidently, you will instill confidence in your partner.

  • cool guys..say, whats the name of the song ur dancin to at first? sounds pretty cool.

  • oooh weee man, that blues dance can be real close up and hands one, My wife might find me connecting with a more private part of my BODY if you know what i mean. Whooo. we gotta learn this

  • These are great! Make more!

  • Very cool, question though,

When your in close embrace what part of your body do you connect with exactly?

  • That's a good question,

First of all, it's important to have staggered feet in order to have maximal body connection and to prevent from stepping on each other. In close embrace, generally, the center of the lead's right pectoral muscle is aligned with the center of the follow's chest. Connection is continued all the way to the stomach; a little space is left between the hips. The lead's right hand is placed under the follow's right shoulder blade.

    Hope this was helpful,

    -Dustin

  • yeah it is, thanks

  • Thanks again for the demo!!!

  • You're welcome!! More to come!

    --Johnny

  • what is the music's name?

  • Ah, this music is so amazing to dance to!!

  • Very nice. Just moved to portland actually. Where do you guys dance?

  • Nice Piece folks :)
