  • When Pilots do their training do they train @ a regular airport? Meaning if it's @ a regular airport then how would 1 runway be available specifically for them to train on? When he 1st takes off it seems like it's in a regular airport w/ other planes parked @ their gates. Or is an "Airport Training Camp" (like 1 desolate airport) maybe they use a Private Airport? I'm just curious & yes he seems to progress during his training.

  • Is this like the driving license exam?? you have to land and take off several times to pass the test???

  • @theloner90 No, you don't have to take off and land in your driving test.

  • 2 striped epaulet? Second officer???

  • @FlyBoeing777 Or Junior FO. At CX and other airlines, junior FOs as well as SOs both have 2 stripes.

  • Wherever your flying looks really cool I fly at Alexandria field in new jersey

  • How can an airliner retract flaps to t/o setting in time for touch and go? or is there a compromise setting?

    (i'm a 172 student)

  • @capacityplus I'm building a 737 simulator and I also wonder how they do that. A compromise setting would only be set if you know in advance you're going around. I just did a quick search [1] and I believe they go full throttle, just take off at normal speed and if the flaps are still traveling, worry about that later.

[1] can't post hyperlinks but google on "737 touch and go retract flaps in time"

  • @ArjenJongeling probably flaps 20, not to exceed 200 i believe

  • Sweet! I love touch and go landings. His best landing was his third attempt. Nonetheless, he's a heck of a lot better than anything I could ever do!

  • this is my plane

  • now we landing...no i'm jocking, ok now, no i'm jocking again...the passengers go crazy...xD

  • Capitan, thank you for sharing this preciuous moment of landing this is a true gift for all future pilots that want to follow you in this great professional carrer of flightting thank you again Sir.

  • i really dont think a landing should be judged by how soft it is, as long as its below 400 fpm descent and the nose dont touch first its good to have a firm landing if you touched down at the right spot

  • Nice Vid, thanks. The first 3 landings seem pretty hard. Doesn't look to be much flaring at 10 feet.

  • Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, We will be performing touch and go practice today before we head to Los Angeles. You might feel and few bumps but dont worry we have plenty of tylenol on board. Thank you for flying, "back seat airlines'. And have a nice day.

  • Ahaha haha hahaha hahaha ! What are funny little joker you are, aren't you, sweetheart !

  • is that you flying it

  • awsome job they have.

  • 10/10

  • thats a good practice i would get sick jajaja

  • no Hong Kong and Morroco

  • nwwm

  • is he saudi and is this jfk?

  • read description !! VCCM VHHH and VHHX

  • pshah...amazong...looks hard!

  • first landing looked a litle hard but each after got better :)

  • since this video was taken in the late 90', it's safe to assume this FO probably made Captain by now. He's probably enjoying this video more than most of us.

  • how many T&G's does the SO have to make on a typical 'proving' session?

    Greeeaaaat Vid..Thankyou!

  • this is a CX B777-200 take off from vhhh and touch and go in vmmc. And this is a normal training when people promote from SO (second officer) to FO (first officer)

  • But the 777 has a 2 crew flight deck? so what does the SO control? last i knew the triple 7 had a FO and captain

  • I said that is a training when a SO promote to FO. I don't said that was a SO on the flight.

  • I read that the SO is usually a member of the relief crew, in long haul flights. Cheers!

  • i think the so does navigation

  • Are spoliers, thrust reversers, and autobrake not used in touch and goes?

  • They are either disarmed manually prior, or deactivated by pressing TOGA.

  • I like bumpy landings when Iam a passenger.

  • snowgirl.....you made me chuckle....thanks for that!

  • Nice and smooth on 5:17 and 7:27 landings. Great video, airboyd....keep 'em coming!

  • thats better than first class

  • yes but in the late 90s there wasnt a 300ER ^^

  • that first thrust is intense!

  • This looks like the Reef Runway in Honolulu International. I love that airport there.

  • That second landing was pro

  • Fun! Thanks for this.

  • Great Video, By the way is auto-brake off?

  • it would be. if it was traning

  • Yeah its a touch and go you dont stop at any point , touch down track center line , clean up and go again!

  • What is the powerplant? RR, GE, or P&W?

  • if its a cathay then its RR. Actually im sure its RR ^^

  • Thanks for sharing this. Great video as always!!!

  • You can see the 2nd officer's making progress! The first landings are hard, he then makes a soft one, a hard one and finally a soft one :)

  • it's the first officer, not the second officer - the second officer is the guy holding the camera, and the F/O - who is the P/O - is airboyd.

  • If you count the stripes on the pilot flying's shoulder, it are two. That makes him a 2nd officer. He is the pilot flying though.

  • amazing the 777 is my favourite plane

    which airline is that?

  • This is wonderful to watch. Thank you very much for showing this.

  • the take offs looks awsome!
