@coolGrandfa Yeah you right, if you're talking about Iranians, i agree with you. Most Iranians in Uzbakistan turkified, and they call themselves Azaris or neither Uzbeks. Tajiks didn't turkified, but anyway Uzbaks killed a lot of Tajiks during Russian Revolution 1917, and thats how was created the Uzbekistan in 1924. During that time most Tajiks were hiding in the Mountains, and Russians didn't recognized them that there is a lot of Persian speaking people living in Central Asia.

@camomilleable11 During the Russian revolution not Uzbeks killed the Tajiks but bolsheviks (mostly Russians) killed most of the leaders and bright people from Qoqan khannate, Bukharian Emirate, and Khiva Khannetes, regardless of their nationality. Russians called all sedentary population of Central Asia (Uzbeks and Tajiks) as Sarts or just Muslims. For them it didn't matter whether a person was Uzbek or Tajik.

@camomilleable11 Turks has been controlling central asia since the fall of the Samanid dynasty, I mean since 999. So, way before Russians invaded central asia turks had been in the government. Therefore, Central Asia has been land of both Turkic and Iranian people for over 1000 years.

Also, Tajiks schools still operate in Uzbekistan, although they have decreased in number.

@shirkhaan1 Uzbeks are not Tajiks. And they are not Turkish. They are Uzbek. Closely related to Uyghurs. Many Farsi words because in essence Uzbeks are a mixture of ancient Iranic population of Central Asia and Turkic people who arrived later. So, Uzbeks are both Iranic and Turkic. But not all Tajik or all Turkic.

But Khorezmian people still has a Persian ethnicity, most of them maybe looks like a Persians but unfortunanetly they Turkicized and in Khorezm official language is Turkmen not even uzbek. Khorezm was very huge land, The Russians divided into two parts, so one part in turkmenistan and the other part in uzbekistan.

You also mentioned that Khorezm was first taken over by "Osmanian turks" and then by "Mongolians". First of all it's not Mongolians, it's Mongols. Secondly, "Osmanian Turks" or Ottomans emerged after the Mongol invasion. They emerged in Asia Minor and never ruled Khorezm or turkicized it. In fact ancestors of Ottomans came to Asia Minor from Khorezm not vice versa.

Turkmen language belongs to Oghuz group of Turkic languages. Khorezmian Uzbek belongs to Oghuz-Qipchaq group. Ancient population of Khorezm was indeed Iranic but not Persian. Persians even tried to take over Khorezm at one point but failed. And why is it that you say that Khorezmians were "unfortunately" Turkicized? Why "unfortunately"? I smell racism.

Original Tajiks dont mixed with Uzbeks, some of them could be, but not all of them. Especially in Samarkand, Bukhoro, Zarafshon Valley lives a majority of Soghdians, which is a Tajiks at the present time. They dont mixed, and they don't speak Turkic language.
