@evantis121 What do you mean pretty empty train?? Were you not watching the same video as me or something??? As far as i could see nearly every seat was filled. Should have gone to specsavers you....
Only 1 train per day in each direction and the train times did not coincide with the times of the 2 or 3 sailings per day.
Train depart Waterford just before the arrival of an Intercity from Dublin so no connecting service between the two trains for people from Kilkenny or Carlow.
Staff at Kent Station, Cork don’t know that the Dublin Intercity has connections at Limerick Junction for Waterford and Rosslare so safe to say the people of Cork don’t know either.
When I said 2 or 3 sailings per day on my previous comment I was talking about Rosslare/Fishguard. There is also sailings to Pembroke, Cherbourg and Roscoff. Irish Rail didn't have a timetable on the Rosslare/Limerick Junction line to coincide with any of the departures and arrivals at Rosslare.
Over in Britain on the Fishguard/London Paddington line the timetable does coincide with the departures and arrivals at Fishguard.
@derrinirl Irish Rail needs to sell their railways and make them all private and some changes to timetables from ferries might happen. Irish rail need to learn.
ireland never learns does it

Another great day for Irish railways. Well done Noel Dempsey, Ciaran Cuffe, Dick Fearn and all the others in the anti-railway lobby. Nice filming.

I opted to dislike this video for the simple reason that it is a sad day for Wexford and Waterford that this line is closed.
