In his eight years in office, Ronald Reagan only did one libertarian thing and that was to deregulate oil. It was not even his idea, Jimmy Carter began the deregulation process during his Presidency. Carter wanted to do it over time. Reagan sought to expedite the deregulation process. Reagan talked a good game until he acquired power.  He gave us higher deficits, more regulations, eroded personal liberties and he cuddled up to the religious right. Comparing him with Goldwater is shameful.

@healthhavencom He won't run. He's never even hinted at the idea of pursuing such a goal. Of all the people that people like to suggest (Schiff, Napolitano, Paul(s), Rockwell, etc) Paul's the most realistic and even he's skeptical about the idea. I'm pretty sure they're more concerned about the message and changing the country from the ground up. They know if the populace isn't ready for libertarian sensibility there's no point in presiding over it.
