@Yareare Not everyone plays the same way. In MvC2, I'm known for staying grounded and picking someone to pieces. Tatsunoko vs Capcom's rating system labels people like me as "Ice Players". Everyone has different styles, his is just not conventional/typical.

Yeah I own a lot of arcade hardware, konami, midway, capcom, sega, snk, its a hobby. Now I don't own a cabinet for every game as I just change them out of the one astro city I own when I want to play another.

on the styles, you're pretty wrong, sorry. The version i know of it is, (most of) the Capcom characters are from Street Fighter Alpha, and the marvel heroes look like characters from Alpha for coherency.

Cps2 is an arcade system. Capcom Play System 2. The easiest way to get it is through emulation since purchasing original cps2 hardware can be quite costly.

Its not much of a game review its just opionated, what (he) doesnt like about the game is what somebody else could like about the game. I like it beacuse at least you can use more then just Mag, Storm, and some other high tier character. it makes you switch teams this was better then XMvSF

I'm glad that weird guy isn't in the American version. He's stupid and his sprite and look doesn't even match the other fighters in the game. Completely ruins the image of the game.

MvSF was the worst of all the vs series cause it wasn't crazy enough.

They got rid of most of the really good characters (Mag, Storm, cammy, juggs, and a few others) the corner infinites, and just made the game bland in comparison to the other games. There just wasn't enough to do. Mvc2 and Xvsf are the best by far for the series. It just feels like they saw what happend to MSH and Xvsf, and decided it would be more fair if you couldn't do things too crazy. what they got was a boring game.

@jfachris from what I recall there was a button combination that allowed you to switch fighters during the battle. But its been so many years, and now I'm starting to doubt myself.

@michelrpg in mvc it was a special mode but it was like mirror mode. The game could only handle two different characters at a time. So you pick chun li i pick war machine then i'll have chun li as my back up and vise versa....kinda lame.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Dreamcast Version is playable on NullDC if you search for it on google its easy enough to find.

The only reason the game would not work on mame is if you do not have the proper rom sets.

You're right about the SF charaters looking more like the X-Men/Marvel characters - they used the models from the SF Alpha series, another CPS2 series, this makes them fit a little better.. In later games like the 'CAPCOM VS SNK' the characters are from different makers and different periods and can look a little odd together.. Morrigan for example has ALWAYS had the same model which looks really lame in later games :(

I understand how you feel that Cammy wasn't in the game but frankly instead of removing Narimaro in the U.S version of the game they should of had Cammy to take Narimaro's place at the character selection screen.

Norimaro was modeled after an Otaku. He was voiced by japanese Comedian Kinashi Noritaro.

However Street Fighter Character Dan was modeled after Kinashi Noritaro.

What made this game for me was the great announcing voice. It's just motivating to hear the announcer actually say "SHINKU TASTU MAKI SENPUU KYAKU".

I had the pal PS1 version and despite the long loading times, no tags and bad animation, I loved it. Now I own the japanese Saturn version and it's astounding that there are no loading times whatsoever. So if I wanna play MSHvsSF I play the Saturn version.

Very cool game. A nice touch that you actually focus on Norimaru here ^^

However I mostly prefer the Marvel Vs Capcom OST's
