  • whats up with a country that can show germany how to rock, but cant get the deadweight politicians to their jobs......

  • When Dickey was still Dickey...

  • pure rock and roll kickassery

  • * * * * *

    AWESOME

  • Wow, Gregg's voice is POWERFUL

  • Seen them about 40 times and consider myself fortunate. Warren was the rebirth of the Brothers. Derek will keep them alive for years to come.

  • The ultimate rock band, ABB make the stones sound like a girls choir. The best band ever, without a doubt.

  • Marveling; The rest of the world took a left, somewhere. I didn't have much to say, Just kept marveling at moments like this.

  • man this is the ONLY best live preforming band to walk this earth no pedals no extorstion fuzz box none of the crap just dicky tuned low amp up and nothing but soul flowing from those fingers love this man

  • Warren Fucking Haynes !!!!!

  • One of my favorite tunes by them, excellent!

  • This music would just wear me out listening to it. Very percussion driven and Gregg Allman sure had a lot of range.

  • Don't I know it. Couldn't of said it better.

  • Luv all their music! Could set and listen for hours.

  • sheer poetry.

  • Excellent....

  • Great to see Warren on a strat

  • Love Dickey's tone&playing on this.......superb!

  • i miss dickey. he's the shit!!!!

  • Remember when you go to your youtube page and there wasn't an advertisement at the top of the page? Remember when music videos were uploaded by users and not VEVO? Remember when there wasn't advertisements that never go away? Remember you couldn't have a limit to favorites? Remember the famous yellow subscribe button? Remember when we could rate stars not like? WE MISS THE OLD YOUTUBE! Post this in every video and lets start a youtube riot! Thumbs up to keep this at top of the page

  • @guinness903 oh gd, for the days of old youtube!!

  • @guinness903 Use firefox with adblock and that will help with the ads. I agree with you and long for the old YT. Peace

  • although this came out kinda later in their career . Way of the the World is one hell of a smokin' album Huichol53........

  • would have liked to hear berry Oakley on bass r i p berry

  • @mcwhiteface Sorry with all respect... but do you know who is playing bass in this video? Because he no longer with us either. And many rate him as one of the finest bass players the world has ever known.

  • @Xaffax The late Allen Woody is on bass. I saw the Allman Brothers at Red Rocks in 1992 and Allen played what appeared to be a 10 string bass on Whipping Post. There was a whole lotta shaking going on with that bass.

  • @sixpack07747 :-) my question was rhetorical.

  • Collectively the Allman Brothers have had 4 of the finest guitarists ever in the band at one time or another. Duane Allman, Dickie Betts, Warren Haynes, and Derek Trucks.

There's not many bands on earth that can strut that on their resume.

  • Bad ass song... Allmans are the premium live blues band.. Sooo good.

  • Mister Slide

  • Who's Derrick?

  • It's sad that Dickey Betts left, BUT...Derrick Trucks is Bad Ass

  • DICKEY always Had my attention with his chops.

  • thanks for deleting flymarvin's comment...geez what a shithead that guy is....he's attacking every single southern rock band on youtube....

  • THE SLIDE !!!

  • Ass kickn southern rock! Alot of truth in this song.

  • The Allmans are the prototypical American Southern Band. Sad that Duane left us so early, but with AWESOME guitarist Warren Haynes, they've still got the tools to continue. I hope they keep making music for decades to come.

  • Amen! Best live band in the world.

  • allman brohers best band in the world

  • Dickey with Warren...haach.

  • ya this rocks 4 pepol are lost

  • Dickey walks off at the end like he is the baddest son of a bitch that ever picked up a Les Paul and thats because he is!

  • Smoking hot w/o filter... Warren Haynes FTW!

  • Warren Haynes... FTW!

  • Wow!! They don't play 'em like that no more. Great stuff!

  • Gregg is in a class by himself and always will be. Love this video. #1 Gregg Allman fan.

  • Gregg will live forever!

  • Comment removed

  • God Dickey is SO on his game in this one..

  • Awesome Jam,is there video for the other songs?

  • this is blues rock, not classic blues

  • WOW

  • ......haha well SUCK IT i mseeing paul mccartney next week in cincert hahahaha losers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @smurphysba63Am I reading you correctly You are calling Allman fans losers and your evidence being that you are going to see that middle-of-the-road, botox swilling wanker Macartney. Even Liverpudlians detest him. Well everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Peace ( I cant wait to read this guys reply).

  • @wobbly585 -Now you sound like a complete IDIOT bad mouthing McCartney,if you dont like the guy commenting then there is No need to bash a Legend.Grow up! And this is coming from a life long ABB fan who has been to over 60 shows...

  • @Phishphantom Mull of Kintyyre, Simply having a wonderful xmas time, Ebony and ivory. I'll bet that you like Queen and the Eagles. Over 60 shows, yeah right seems that you like the AAB.

  • @wobbly585 -As I said your an IDIOT Kid! Why don't you go drink some more Moonshine and Bang your sister again! Fucking Mutt...

  • @Phishphantom We're simply having a wonderful christmas time.

  • ONE OF THE GREATEST EVER......

  • What a voice! One of the best blues singers ever!!

  • one big dude with one big bass guitar Hah

  • They say everyone has one great song in them, the story of their life. This is Gregg's GREAT song...

  • @ridingroy Brother Gregg wrote a bunch of songs in the early 90's where he was finally able to open up about his severely messed up life until that point, not just End of the Line even though it is a great song. Case in point: All Night Train another great Allman tune

  • Classics just keep gettin better n better!!! Rock on Brothers!

  • What a duo, Betts with the Goldtop LP and Haynes with the Strat. What a band!

  • warren haynes on a strat! priceless!

  • Best drums ever. Great band, especially for when ur driving.

  • You cannot beat a strong ABB w/ DB . He is an awesome TALENT .Gregg Allman

and Dickie Betts...together...MY SWEET LORD... HALLELUJAH !!! I hope its not the end of the line.

  • @Mr31760 preach it and peach it brother!

  • ...try to do my best, but the devil gets in my way...

    how true.

  • It's funny to see Warren play something besides a Gibson.

  • I was there in Köln, Germany in 1991 ! ! !

  • "When i think about the old days.....sends chills up an down my spine"... so true...

  • This is some fat shit!!

  • dickey was really on in this one.

  • real raw sound --- best yet for old time ==== saw warren at xmas jam 08,09 unforgetable shows ---- it is all good---

  • I think this is the best ABB song that you never hear. even stuff like You Don't Love Me gets occasional airplay, but in my opinion, this is the best ABB track that you'll never hear on public radio.

  • My favorite song by allman brothers :) Great band!!!

  • Warren Haynes is a sick slide player and always was and always will be.

  • I'am German, I know some people who do not emphazise much, but they are in need of that music like bread and water

  • Without question the best live show on the planet. These guys always give it all and go for at least 3 hours. Simply the best!

  • dixielanddelight13, I believe that it was Ronnie Van Zant who said that there's no such thing as southern rock because rock started there, so rock and roll is inherently southern

  • spent last 3 hrs on that same RVZ and L S which brought me here to listen to warren who is where iti s at now -- rip L S

  • I Spent three great years in Augsburg and saw many Bands over there . The Germans aren't as enthusiastic as Americans are during live shows . It means in no way any disrespect that is just how most of them are . They are jamming in there own way . ..

    Long Live ABB!!!

  • @bluezhound

Yupp, you're right. Germans can appear very restrained ... which often gives the impression of coldness or even arrogance. But nothing could be further from the truth. It's just that it is part of the german culture to be brought up to behave in a quiet and measured and polite way. It's a bit like upper Middle Class England UK - or old clips of the 50's/60's ... when you wonder how they could just sit there all motionless like they were watching some boring Drama ... LOL

  • now that's what's up! rock on my southern brothers! ;)

  • This is Rock n Roll!

  • @rikeguitar Not this is Blues

  • @rikeguitar No this is Blues :-)

  • Best live band EVER!!!

  • @Sagison Period!

  • @Sagison agreeed.......... sooo much energy and awesomeness.. but i do love the Dead too

  • @Sagison 100% hands down they r the best live band ever

  • This is the live sound that I love w/ABB. Absolutely jamming, and sounding at the very top of their game.

  • "Yes I cut 'em down in the nicka time. . ."

  • The ride-groove at the end reminds me of a runaway train. Love to hear Betts and Haynes trading guitar phrases. Great song!

  • this band is the bees nees

  • Dickey Betts on top of his game - none better - Juiceman

  • These Germans don't even understand what they were witnessing, did they.

  • Hey dick...you don't mind if I call you "dick" do you?.....you mistook my sentiment. My point was that this particular crowd didn't seem at all to be grooving and enjoying the greatness of this performance of the Allman Brothers Band. Not at all like an American audience acts when being blasted by Gregg's voice and Warren and Dicky's guitar work. I realize the internet is full of dumbed-down, low I.Q dolts who need every little thing spelled out for them but WOW!....on this vid?

  • scorpins cant carry the allmans water they are hall of fame southern rockers

  • BEST FUCKING BAND EVER

  • Yeah, but it's so hard to have a meth addict in your band. Sometimes you've got to do what's best for the "collective".

  • yeah and its HOW they fired Bettes ,he was there at the start ..pretty low down.

  • whos the guy with the hair and the gold les paul?

  • Dickey Betts

  • This is when the post Duane ABB were at there peak. I really can't even recognize the current line up as the allman bros band. They don't even make new music .what have they made 1 album in the almost 10 years since booting Dickey. It's a shame cause trucks and Haynes are good players . Betts was the main creative person in the band. even when duane was alive he was writing big instrumentals.

  • I love this song! I wish more people have heard it.

  • Song was written by Warren Haynes.

  • I feel Betts is a very underrated player. He is an unique player with his own sound and style. He never got full credit for his artistic part in the allman Brothers sound. Even songs he recorded after Duane died are often atributed to Duane by lame dj's and TV presenters. Don't get me wrong I love Duane but there were two of them on stage wearing it out. Just like here. two one of a kind great guitar players giving it all,

  • still waiting for Dickie to return !!!

  • Greg is really beltin this one out ........ just kickin ass !!!!

  • Ironic, A friend of mine thought Gregg was was a white James Brown, he could also be a white Chester Burnett

  • funny how warren really didn't want to show off tooomuch here......

  • he never really shows off, and that is a very good property of him ;-)

  • i know. he is a cool dude. man ha can play, les pauls are his best guitar tone imop..........

  • Yea I like fenders, but thank god Warren got out left that phase when he did. Viva la Les Paul

  • yah! watch this then watch the vid old before my time. It will shake your mind.

  • You have to get the goose bump chills at the first break from 2:23 onward. Classic Allman Brothers song structure. Warren, and Dickey along with Gregs Voice is a force to be reckoned with!!

  • Gregg Allman the white Ray Charles.

  • Well what about how fantastic Warren Haynes is?As always!

  • one word.....EPIC

  • dont hear dickey using minor pentatonic much... you wouldnt assume hed be so good at it.... lmao

  • why wouldn't he be so good at it?

for example the e minor pentatonic is the same as the e major pentatonic, only three steps higher.

  • E minor pentatonic and E major pentatonic are nothing like each other. Tho they have the same shape and pattern, the way you approach playing them isn't similar in any way. A lick in minor would not work in major.... basically theyre two completely different scales, tho theyre the same key. The licks you develop are much different between major and minor. Especially in rock. In blues, the two scales intertwine much more, but in rock theyre two completely different things

  • ok, seems like you're right. by the way, great song, thanks for posting.

  • WOODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Watching this, makes me proud to play.

  • This is one bad ass song

  • "I try to do my best but the devil gets in my way" What else needs to be said other than Mr Betts was on top of his game on this night as well as the rest of the boys

  • Soulful and Uplifting - Beautiful

  • sweet tune.

  • It's nice to see Warren and Allen Woody here :)

  • Hot.

  • my kind of music, mann!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Actually, the song was composed by all the band members. I'm a huge ABB fan, and this is one of my favorites. this song epitomizes the band, and many of its trials

  • Actually, it was written by Warren, Allen, Greg and songwriter extraordinaire John Jaworowicz....

  • Yes, that's right. Thanks for the correction. I don't know of Mr. Jaworowicz, but what a composition!

  • It truly is a GREAT song!!! Such a HUGE groove...

  • A Woody and Warren composition...the birth of Go'vt Mule.

  • That one of a kind voice always gives me the chills

  • Solid. I miss Dickey.

  • this song sums up my life

  • Boner

  • if I could play like anyone still living...Dickey!

Be all wrong to steal talent from the dead, therefore SRV is out of the question.

  • Awesome song. Love the Les Paul and Strat together. Such a sweet sound.

  • I love them!

  • Does anyone know what pickups Warren had in this strat that appears on the video? Lace Sensosr? What model(s)? Thanks if anyone can answer!

  • you show me a man who doesn't like allman brothers band and ill show you a faggot

  • Wanna see an a**hole? Look into this mirror.

  • how did you know i stare at my ass hole in the mirror for hours on end and jerk off, damn your good

  • It was an easy guess.

  • I'm gay and I love the Allman Brothers. I win.

  • lol nice

  • myspace name -> Southerncrossblues - Polish Band Play ABB :)

  • great song!

  • ok, i realy need to have that show on DVD or something. what are the chances?

  • Terrific version of a great Allman Brothers song. Gregg sings with a lot of soul, despite battling a lot of sustances during those years

  • Agree with all the comments below - really shocked to hear such brilliance and fucked off that they never got more marketing exposure. In the UK it was like, Bob Dylan, then Lynnard Skynnard - Allman's hung around far back - but this level of solo impro is superb - no wonder Frank Zappa and Gary Lucas like these guys so much - off to get me some cds now!

  • This song absolutely ROCKS!! I'm so glad to find this video, thx so much for posting it. I've adored their music for 38 years (!!), and as a loyal southern lady fan, I know for a fact that they started southern rock. Check out the books Midnight Riders & Skydog to learn about them, & the website hittintheweb, named after Duane's saying from a good night of playing that goes "Man, we really hit the note tonight"!!!

  • Rare to see Warren with a Fender!!!

  • Great underrated tune. Heard alot of Allman stuff....I really like this sound. They trade off leads well without sounding like a jam thing they used to do back in the day. Greg Allman aint' no Ronnie Van Zant, but he kicks ass on this vid.

  • surprise surprise! them dudes still groove

  • I like how warren and betts trade off on solos. Some bands dont even let a second guitarist turn his volume up so it can be heard.

  • Lord, it sends chills up and down my spine...yeah indeed this song does, fuck runs in a row here on my computer, wonder when the neighbors come iver...23rd time now or something ,fuck, so great!!!!!
