My 1st old coin for 2010 ~ metal detecting

I go out metal detecting and though I find coins, they're never old. Can any coin hunter tell me how often they come across and old coin?

@Tony63909 When im out in the woods I dig every coin signal reguardless of the depth but when im in a park I have a bad habbit of only digging coins that are deeper than 5 inches.

@TreasureFiend I have a Whites' M-6 model. When using it, are you saying that 5 inches or depper are the older coins? How often do you hit on an older coin?

@Tony63909 5" is just a depth that I decided to dig at, I miss a lot of shallower old coins but I hate waisting my time with clad. Im usuially good for atleast 1 silver coin and 4-6 wheaties per hunt. My buddy Twistedd (in my eariler vids uses an M6 and he kill the old coins with it.

Great find TF! That coin is in very good shape--probably dropped in the 1880s. You must buy better shovels than 219erman, he keeps snapping his! LOL!
