  • really well played! better slow than wrong..you make the right chose! :D

  • Many thanks for this exellent video ... It helps a lot. I too had trouble with voicing the chords given in the book... Your Am6 makes a lot more sense. Thanks again.

  • Hi Mucklum,

I wish my edge of ability got as far as yours.....

What great performances you make, wauw again !!!

    Greetings from Holland

    Ronald.

  • Great Video Mucklum. Your technique looks great and the video is set up really well. I'm learning out of L'esprit Manouche as well, which is the most amazing guitar book i've ever read. I've just posted my swing fof ninine last week. It's not as good as yours but I'm happy with it for now! Keep up the good work, I'm waiting for your next post!

  • Very nice playing, and useful example of this classic song. Thanks !

  • Hi again, one question: For the Intro and Rythm section you are not playing the shapes given in the book, right? Because for example, the first Am chord of the intro in the book is 6th string 5th fret (thumb), 5th string 7th fret (middle finger), 4th string 7th fret (middle finger), 3rd string 5th fret (index), 2nd string 5th fret (index). This shape is very difficult because of the thumb, and i think you are not using the shapes given in the book. Am I right? I just can't play chords with thumb.

  • @GassyCoke Yes, I´m using different shapes as well, not exactly by the book.

You needn´t use the thumb to fret bass notes, but it´s worth getting used to it.

For more detailed questions please send a message, okay ?

    Thanks ;-)

  • Hi, what mic and what software are you using for this song?

    Thanks.

  • Hey man awesome great tempo to many gypsy jazz guitarist think that to play it as fast as humanly possible is the only way.. you did a fab job and I wouldnt speed it up at all !!

  • yess really good!! 5***** tnks max

  • great video.I like this tempo better than the original

  • great work! and nice technique. you must be using horowitz book :D

  • Wow, really clean playing, I know it takes tons of effort to get all those licks down so well, so well done.

  • Yeahhh man, great interpretation!!!

  • I'm learning this right now and it's sooo fast. But with everyday-practice i hope i will play it like you. Very good!!

  • Love the tune and sound.......

  • Love the look of this video. Great solos man. Killer Licks

  • Super Mann!

    Dima

  • Bravo ¡¡¡

  • Ausgezeichnet, mein Freund! Nice to hear after coming back from the convention. Love the smile throughout und Blick am Ende!! bb

  • This is just amazng. I think if you would play it any faster it would ruin the feel. Just love the sound too. Great playing, Take Care.

  • Tolle Nummer, klasse gespielt!

Ich finde auch deine Ausleuchtung prima, Matthias, bei mir klappt das nicht - bis jetzt - die webcam kommt da nicht mehr mit.

    Liebe Grüße und 5*****,

    Bernd

  • Matthias, impeccably played as ever, fantastic tone, every note articulate. Love the cool lighting as well. You are the master!

  • yeah...

  • Great sound! what recording equipment do you use? mic, preamp etc?

  • fantastic !!! great feel and control 5*****++

  • WOW! I agree with the other comments, don't play this any faster... (especially at 1:57, or your fingers will fly off your hands!)... fantastic interpretation of one of the most difficult types of music to master! I am extremely impressed here -- this one goes in the "Five Star YouTube Artists" category on the Acoustic Virtuosity Archives (bigdood-playlists-Five Star YouTube Artists!). Very few videos have made it to that part of the archives, and I just have one more word... BRAVO! :-)

  • This is soo cool!!! Well done, 5 stars!

  • Absolute klasse, gefällt mir sehr.

    Michael

  • absolut perfect, ich ziehe meinen imaginaeren hut, was ist das fuer ne gitarre? 5 ***** und liebe gruesse friedel

  • Now this is the authentic tone and sound that I want to hear in gypsy jazz. I enjoyed the tune a lot. Nicely played. When I recently went to a concert by Joscho Stefan and left after 20 minutes, I was unable to listen to him playing gypsy jazz with a smooth jazz sound any longer. His tone and that of his rhythm guitarist were all wrong for me. Pity as he is really talented player but perhaps not yet an involving performer.

  • Like always superb work from your fingers and mind. Perfect gipsy style and - speed. No, it doesn't need to be faster... at least not for me. It's just the right speed for dreaming on it....

    a wonderful gypsy jazz - BRAVO !

    5***** ( a must - not a choice)

  • excellent!

  • I like it at this tempo just fine. Really excelent phrasing and tone!

  • Love that guitar! Awesome piece! Excellent performance! Is that a Neumann mic? Thanks for the share! 5* -Derek

  • Good job Matthias! Keep working ;)

  • Good Job

  • Großartig!

    Martin

  • Very very nice you had my foot tapping all the way through :-) 5*****

  • Hi Matthias! Super gespielt! Wie immer halt! ;-) 5 *

  • Hi Matthias, this is a great performance! Cheers Jeroen

  • Bravo Matthias. Es schneller zu machen ist ja keine Kunst, das geht ja mit quicktime. Außerdem mag ich persönlich lieber langsam :-)

  • Jaaaaaa! Das ist es, da sind wir voll auf einer Wellenlänge!!! Großartig! Bravo!

    Beste Grüße, Frank 5*****

  • You 2 would be a great duo I think! Bye Jeroen
