I'm sure the guy thinks he knows what he's doing and has mentally calculated his glide rate but there are a lot of tricky variables that make seat of the pants judgements very dangerous business. Terrain like this generates a lot of updrafts and thermals that can throw things way out of whack. Hey that's cool when he becomes human art on the side of a rock we can see it on youtube.

@braseldazzle parachutes are a lot more reliable now than they used to, I think anyway. You should look it up, but there are a lot of safety mechanisms in place that allow it to be pretty safe.

@jscullysmail Its a piece of cake once you have the required jumps to wingsuit skydive. It feels very natural like an extension of your body.

The difference for wingsuit base is that there is no room for error, you need to be extremely precise.

Start with skydiving, do 200 jumps, then move onto wingsuit skydiving, do a few hundred wingsuit skydives, move onto regular base jumping do a hundred of them, then if your wingsuit skill is up to scratch combine the two (wingsuit base)
