Ok, usually I wouldn't respond to ignorant, bone-headed comments like yours (no offense, of course), but I couldn't resist. Are you still smarting because a girl in kindergarten took your play-dough? I hope you aren't carrying that resentment and bitterness throughout other areas of your life...that's a miserable way to live...
By the way, do you post on other forums as "ernestmiller"?
I´m sorry to tell you she "just" follows the tradition of greats Emerson Fittipaldi, Nelson Piquet and Ayrton Senna. She´s making history, no doubt about that.
@Sylar962: No shit, Sherlock!!! She really does have a great future ahead of her, I just hope she can find a permanent ride for 2011 IICS. She is SOOO talented!!!
@Sylar962: Barrichello was in the wrong team (Ferrari), he couldn't win a title with Schumi there. Massa should win it in '08. Bruno Senna is just LAME!!! He got beat by someone who had 3 and a half years to drive (Klien at Singapore)!!!
@Sylar962: IndyCar has a lot of Brasilians (Castroneves, Kanaan, Moraes, Matos, Meira, Junqueira, Beatriz, Hornish in the past etc.). Some of them are really good!!!
By the way, whoever wants Helio to win a championship, please thumbs up! He's the one that's overdue!
@PhilipTheBigOne Very Good! U r really a Sportscar fan... I like Castroneves´ and Kanaan´s styles. They could easily drive F1. Matos is a winner, he could be a tough rival for the veterans if he had a better car. Ana Beatriz, after a great season in 2008, made lots of mistakes in 2009, and almost had no car in 2010. In despite of this, I´m still much more a fan of hers than of B. Senna´s, Massa´s or Barrichello´s... ; )
@PhilipTheBigOne Franchitti x Power x Castroneves x Dixon x Briscoe. This is the Real Deal in Indycar. Dario is the king of ovals, while Power rules the road and street courses. Castroneves is very experienced in all kinds of tracks. Dixon is good mostly in ovals, while Briscoe is a minor character that sometimes shines and frightens the others. About other drivers, I like Justin Wilson and Ryan Hunter-Reay, which sometimes put some spice in the races, don´t you think? ; )
@Sylar962: By the way, I see a lot of girls in motorsports. And, although many hate her (I don't), you have to admit that Danica showed the way (and Sarah Fisher as well). Now we have: Danica, Sarah, Simona (de Silvestro), Milka (Duno), Ana, Pippa (Mann), Carmen (Jorda) in Indycar, Ashley Force in NHRA, Jennifer Jo Cobb, Johanna Long, the Cope sisters in NASCAR, Katherine Legge in DTM (from CART)... Oh, and two of my favorite owners are women: Sarah Fisher and Delana Harvick (NASCAR).
@PhilipTheBigOne Yes, I know about some of those girls. Yes, Danica showed the way in the Real Deal. She took long until she did it, but did it good. This is a considerable advantage on the other girls, but I think Simona and Beatriz could do better than her if they all had the same car. Danica is mostly an oval driver, while Beatriz and Simona are good on street courses and road tracks as well. ; )
@Sylar962: Simona is AWESOME in the road courses. Maybe she's the best female driver right now, but lacks something very important: experience. But in about 2 years, if she gets in a stronger car, she'll get a win.
Ana is good as well, but also lacks experience. What she needs is a certain ride somewhere for 2011 and she'll be just OK.
I think Danica isn't strong enough to control the car on the road courses. Simona and Ana are stronger than she is, that's why they do better there.
@PhilipTheBigOne Yeah, I forgot to mention Wheldon. He did some good finishes with the Panther, specially in ovals. He ended the 2010 season ranked 9th. Very good, considering he wasn´t driving a Penske, Ganassi or Andretti.
F1 is still the land of the best drivers. No Indy driver could be a match for Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso and Kubica, if they all had the same car. Before you ask, Webber and Button are great, but not as talented.
@Sylar962: Castroneves and Power would do fine in F1. Best driver in F1 is Kubica in my opinion. Let's face it, Renault was the 5th-6th strongest car and half the races he contended for a podium, started 2nd at Monaco, won 2 years ago in Canada... I want to see him in Ferrari or McLaren soon. Kobayashi is also very good, especially on fresh option tyres. At that time, he transforms into the "cars-passing machine" we've seen in Valencia, Japan... Best Japanese driver EVER!!!
@PhilipTheBigOne I gotta agree with you. Kubica and Kobayashi are the ones who give more emotion to F1, since, opposite to Vettel, Alonso and Hamilton, their cars are not as great. Kobayashi seems to be as determined as Ayrton Senna. Remember, the japanese loved AS, and certainly Koba grew up watching Senna´s races. Even Michael Schumacher has been inspired by Ayrton Senna. In despite of MS´ amazing numbers, IMO, Ayrton Senna da Silva is still the best. : )
@Sylar962: Senna had the emotion (logical, since he was Brasilian) and had the way to get the crowd of their feet. So I agree he was the best driver ever in F1. Schumacher was the most... how should I say it, methodical one. He'd wear you down before he passed you. He had also a lot of enemies (Hill in '94, Villeneuve in '97, FIA in '06) and it was his fault. No one can deny, though, that Schumi is the most successful F1 driver in history.
@PhilipTheBigOne The most successful is not necessarily the greatest, but Schumacher´s numbers can´t be ignored. He inspires all young German drivers, the same way Prost and Senna did. We should ask Vettel, Rosberg, Hulkenberg and Sutil about that. Although they are all beating Schumacher during races, they are certainly thrilled by competing with that LIVING LEGEND. I think MS will give himself a chance in 2011. If things don´t improve, he will eventually quit for good.
@PhilipTheBigOne Yes, it´s notorious this year´s Mercedes car had been designed for Button´s style. For now,it serves as an excuse for Schumacher´s disappointing performance. The 2011´s car will put MS in the mixture, and if he´s not successful at least beating Rosberg, I really think he will retire permanently.
@PhilipTheBigOne Back to Ana Beatriz, I think the only real fault she has is just the worst of all: She´s very inconsistent. If she goes into a great period, she´s the sensation among the drivers. On the other hand, if things begin to go wrong, she gets involved into it like it were a curse. She´s talented, not afraid of the guys, but lacks some sense strategy she could learn with the MASTER-OF-THEM-ALL Emerson Fittipaldi. : )
@PhilipTheBigOne Nascar is not very popular in Brazil, so there is not much TV material for that. Maybe it changes as more drivers, like Piquet jr., join the series. Anyway, I have learned to enjoy motorsports mostly thru openwheel, specially Formula 1. : )
@Sylar962: Let me tell you, maybe the most talented German driver right now in F1 in Rosberg, he is beating the crap out of Schumi in Mercedes. And maybe the best German passer (overtaking cars), especially in the wet, could be Heidfeld. He must have the most double overtakes in history, especially at Silverstone. In 2008, in the wet, he passed 4 cars in 2 moves in the final corner. He let them take each other out and snuck through there to pass them. He finished 2nd in that race to Hamilton.
Michele Mouton is better than them all. She beat the rally elite fair and square, and only a mechanical failure robbed her of the 1982 title. She won the 1984 Pikes Peak hillclimb and again in 1985 breaking the all time record for the race.
Those you mention there are yet to have the same kind of success.
@McLarenMercedes: I was talking about the girls who race (or have raced) in the US. I know Michelle Mouton and I know she was one hell of a great driver!!! She was one who paved the road for girls to come for sure...
Janet Guthrie also... She didn't have much success, but by starting both the Indy 500 and the Daytona 500 while being a female driver (and in the '70s nonetheless) is a great achievement!!!
I was talking about the new generation of female drivers...
When will she take a right turn?

@Sylar962: Briscoe is the joker, you don't know when he'll strike. He's like a cobra, lurking for the opportunity.
Dixon is consistent and has championship experience, he knows how to get it done.
Castroneves is good at any racetrack and a great closer (no wonder he won 3 times the Indy 500).
Power is the BEST on the road/street courses, but not that good on the ovals.
Franchitti is THE BEST!!! 3 titles speak for it!!!
My other favorites: Kanaan, Hunter-Reay and Wheldon.

@Sylar962: The best answer came from Jenson Button:
