I am planning ,In the near future, a multiple countries in Eastern Europe trip,,,,.So I've been looking around for SOUND ADVICE... Out of the loads of videos, I've seen yours are the best... Sound Advice with out any FLUFF....
Hahahaha, hostels? Rent cars? How much money do you think to spend? 10000??? 20000? hmm what about hitch-hiking? Sleep in the street? No, hmm too dirty? hahahah
This trip was a great experience and I would definitely jump at a chance to do it again. However a trip like this is not like going on a two week vacation. There were several times where it was not very relaxing and could be stressful as well. If you are going to do a long trip such as this it's best to try and do things in the middle of your trip to break up the travel a bit.
I would suggest getting a job, or volunteering. Another great thing to do is have friends plan to meet up with you at a mid way point somewhere. These small things can make a world of difference in your overall enjoyment of the whole experience.
Vaccines, I can maybe understand getting them if your going to a 3 world country or something similar...but what if you were going to Pairs (europe?) or something that was modern and clean...would you still need to?
@Jammy1800 While travelling through places such as South America & Egypt I encountered packs of dogs running together in and around small towns. The dogs did not appear to be in very good health. This was one of the reasons we chose to get the Rabies vaccination. The other reason is that at the time of our travel we were informed that there was a shortage of Rabies vaccination (Im not sure what the current situation is).
@Jammy1800 If you are bitten and you need to be vaccinated, depending on where you are in the world it could take a bit of time to track down the vaccination and have it brought to your location. Note: by being pre-vaccinated with Rabies you are not immune. If you are bitten you need to be given another shot (something similar to a booster).
@Jammy1800 (cont.) The pre-vaccination will buy you additional time while you wait for the final vaccination to arrive. I would suggest that you speak to a doctor/nurse about getting the vaccination. The doctor that we saw at the travelers clinic recommended that we get the vaccination because of the areas we were planning to visit.
@Jammy1800 (cont) Its good to get a quote, because some of these shots can be quite expensive. The company we worked for at the time had an excellent benefits plan and covered the cost of all of our shots.
Before you travel it is always best to check with the travel clinic within your area. The doctors/nurses there can tell exactly what you need. Even though you may be travelling to a generally safe country you may still want to get vaccinations such as your Hepatitis shots. Another reason why you should go to the travel clinic before you go is so that they can warn you about any health concerns within the region that you may not be aware of.
Some countries will also require that you be vaccinated with a certain drug prior to letting you enter the country & provide proof as well. It's best to speak to a professional to ensure that you have all the vaccinations required before leaving. Be sure to book an appointment well in advance. If you do require shots you need to make sure you have them well before you leave as some vaccinations are not as effective until they have been in your system for a while.
"We carried sleeping bags but they were more for use in accommodations where the beds were not as clean as we would have liked. They were very light weight, packed up small and dried quickly. We did not carry tents as we did not camp all the time. The times we did camp, we were able to rent tents and the proper equipment (including sleeping bags)."
ok, iv'e got another one for you. how did you manage to do all of this and still manage to pay your bills, rent/ mortgage, car notes, ect? that's my biggest concern and that's wht's keeping me and my bro from doing it. is there a service for such a thing because if we go we don't want to come back for a while so how does that work?

Also, depending on the vaccination you may need multiple shots to complete the whole vaccination process which adds more time.
