  • "Tell you what I'll do. I'll watch out for you"

That's what we all need, all 100% of us.

Lou, old hippie (58) turned capitalist

  • When the shadows grow, it'll do you fine

When the cold winds blow, it'll ease your mind

The shape it takes could be yours to choose,

What you may win, what you may lose

  • Great song. I saw them twice about this time but don't think they did this song. Yeah... like I'd remember that well in concert condition. Ha, ha.

  • @lightlyone you know what they say.. if you remember the 60s, you weren't there :D

  • @psychedelicbird Robin Williams said that, and I disagree with him on many other points, too :-)

  • the way you came or the way you go, let your tracks be lost in the darkest snow!!!!

  • shit theres a hippie movement happening!? I GOTTA GET IN ON THIS!! (17 year old hippie here who really wishes she lived in the 70's...)

  • @BlueOctober13th hippie... chick? I'm sure I read hippie chick 8)

  • @BlueOctober13th There are so many people our age bringing back the peace and love of the 60's. It's a beautiful thing. I am also 17 by the way :)

  • Of all the Dead tunes, this little ditty epitomizes to me the classic San Francisco sound.

  • always such a beautiful, uplifting song

  • Jerry Garcia is God.

  • @FredRoch23 God WISHES he was Jerry Garcia.

  • THE HIPPIE MOVEMENT OF 2015 IS UPON US SPREAD THE WORD IF YOU WANT IT TO HAPPEN

  • @nimrodremsa I do .... can you elaborate ?

  • @nimrodremsa cause the hippy movement of the 60's was such a giant success it needs to be tried again?

  • @nimrodremsa Anybody that calls themselves a "hippy" or wants to become a "hippy" is not one and never will be one. Being a wannabe is just silly and pathetic. There are very very very few real hippies left and they are all in their 60's. Anybody that claims to be a hippy now is just faking it.

  • @VoodooPolitico exactly. People shouldn't just see it as a style but more of a religion. Some people put on a tie dye shirt and call it a day. You've gotta actually make your beliefs obvious and spread the word, give to charity, help others, accept others.

  • @VoodooPolitico Hippies are everywhere, go to a festival. Go to my hometown: Woodstock, NY. The children of hippies growing up with hippie ideals and becoming hippies themselves. Shit, I almost made the mistake of allowing myself to fall into THAT trap. Growing up in Woodstock makes you realize how sad and washed up the old Hippies are, burnt beyond recognition or understanding. Drugs should be done in moderation if at all. No Hippies left. HA! STFU when you don't know what you're talking about.

  • @mphurwitz I live in Portland Oregon and most of the hippie kids here just smoke pot. Some of my friends have been burnt out from real drugs but some of my other friends are actually pretty smart pot smokers. I guess it depends on where you live.

  • @VoodooPolitico I'm 15 and although I don't call myself a hippie, ( i prefer peace advocate, if anything) Everyone calls me a hippie. I dress in homemade clothes, or second hand clothes and attend protests and all that other good happy shit, and I live by the simple rule of love yourself, love others. I don't think I'm a "poser" just because I try to reduce my impact on the planet and promote peace and unity amongst humans... yeah.

  • @thetimemusheen oh gawd...

  • @thetimemusheen its about the music. just be yourself

  • @nimrodremsa nah then everyone will think believing in love, unity, and peace is just a fad and it'll get dismissed by a majority of people even more than it is now. sadly...

  • @nimrodremsa

Most will be gone by then, well then again Maybe not

  • @nimrodremsa THIS! I don't know where to start. Enlighten me on this by sending me a message or something about it. Im all for it though. But why in 2015? Why not right now?

  • @nimrodremsa you have my support!

  • @nimrodremsa There is a website, called World Wide Hippies. Can't post links in here, but you'll find it. There is also the Hippie Peace Freaks on Facebook.

  • @nimrodremsa dude, just follow one of the modern jam bands or hit up as many festivals as you can. you dont need a "movement"

  • @rocksteady889 ahaha, i feel special. :} thanks for the offer. but i think my parents would be kinda mad if i gave you permission to adopt me. haha, no hard feelings. your son really listens to necro? i wish people would realize that that type of music is meaningless.

  • An awesome underrated classic, just wished they would of played this more, it's has a great csny feel to it.

  • @mfk129 100% truth.

  • @mfk129 Unfortunatly as far as I know ( and I could be wrong) the Grateful Dead only played this song at one show 10-31-1970...

  • @gtz1975 They played it like 4 or 5 times. You can listen on the archive.
