  • FAIL

  • @kacpri3000 please dont make yourself look like a fool. you obviously have no idea what your talking about so be quiet

  • why would a software update fix a hardware issue? idiots

  • i dont know what happen to my phone but whenever i turn on my "3G", just the 3G not the mobile data. The signal goes down from 5-2 then when i turn it off the signal go back up to 5, but when i send text, it really slow, it's like i only have 2 bars, then after a couple of hours, the signal starts to go down one by one until it gets to no service, the only way to get my signal back is if i rebbot my iphone 4 or turn airplane mode off then on again or turn my 3g on.

  • Here's a little known solution for the death grip problem. It involved throwing it off a building, lubricant, a couple cucumbers, and a hand gun.

  • I noticed the same with mine but as soon as I put my case on it it fixed the problem.

  • hey whan i cjeced my version it said 4.0.02 it is the 4 .2 version or sommet

  • apple free case fix problem thus far no dropped calls.

    I'm happy

  • just put case and there problem fix it has to be rubber

  • of course it does not... stupid video

  • u shouldn'w show ur iphone serial number to the public....

  • iOS 4.1 is software. The antenna problem is hardware. *facepalm*

  • who ever complaints about loosing bars while holdin there phone are wining little bitches man its not as bad as they say i never lost a call or service do to the antenna problem i did lost a bar but took forever and i never hold the phone the way i did to try it so stop complaining or sale ur phone and get a different one man

  • @sirkastik I think everyone who is complaining should have been patient and waited for the iPhone 4's issues to all be worked rather than buying it the day it came out and getting fucked over. I personally never buy things when they first come out because new products never work as good as they're suppose to. Like the new Xbox 360 model, I'm waiting until all the issues get worked out with it before I even think about buying one lol. The greatest is rarely the latest.

  • again ill ask who the f holds there phone with a death grip??? hold it as normal and all is fine.

  • there is not signal issue to begin with when will you Americans learn its your shitty AT&T network thats is why countries like the UK, Australia and Europe and even Canada haven't got this issue. No firmware or hardware update will fix your issue you need to go to a better 3g network. end of story.

  • I never had any antenna issue-.- You guys have it cuz you guys are ugly -.-

  • Why is it that the whole iphone cannot be seen in this video? I am suspicious. But before I get a bunch of angry comments from my American cousins, I would like to say this... I know four people here in Canada that own iPhone 4s on two different carriers and none of them are experiencing this so called "death grip."

As such I suggest to all that is has less to do with the iphone 4 and more to do with the carrier setting of ATT and or the ATT sim card setting themselves. Plausible their yes?

  • Mobile Crunch is kinda dumb huh?

  • ppl..stop watching this..its NOT the real IOS 4.1..it's 4.01.(4.1 is just released: 8 september) .and Death grip can't be fixed by software lollll.

  • But why you need to hold your iPhone like that?!

  • This was a SOFTWARE change, not a HARDWARE change.

  • so f-ing what, 1 bar reception is STILL reception. i don't know where you americans get all that follow-like-a-sheep propaganda, but when 1 things doesn't work the whole country is against it. the iphone 4 works, even with 1 bar, get over it.

  • well maybe in the public version it will fix some of the phones out there who knows this is just a beta

  • its not supposed to fix the death grip...

  • What a stupid video.

  • If you don't like it, then buy a different phone and stop making nerdy little videos that criticize software and hardware made by people much smarter than you. What's that? Oh, you do like the iPhone 4? Oh yeah, because you bought one and you haven't returned for a full refund, like they said you could.

  • whats ur wallpaper?

  • Fucking racist!! Of course a software cant fix the fucking hardware!! And guess What apple are fucking giving free cases! I actually fucking received one today, and guess what again? ! It fucking fix the problem and it fucking look good aswell so haters?! I hope u all fucking die today!

  • shame on you APPLE

u guys should sell Apples n oranges

who told u to make a crap phone ?

  • This update was never meant to correct the reception issue. Just get the case or cell your phone. Time to move on.

  • I'm amazed that anyone was stupid enough to expect that to happen. A firmware update doesn't fix physical problems with the device itself.

  • Just buy a fuckin' case and go home!

  • for one you are not making any sense. All i said was there were a bunch of people saying this update fixed there problem when all it did was made the bars show what actual service they were getting and the bars became a bit bigger. Your just some person that is ignorant as fuck and trys to make himself feel bigger by saying complete bullshit that you and only you believe in.

  • lol its not the iphones fault.. its just at&t's reception sucks :P

  • Guess what? Buy a case and problem fixed dumbass!

  • this is 4.01 not 4.1

  • Only a hardware fix will completely fix it wich should be in a batch of the problem fixed

  • why the frick would u "death fuckin "grip it in the first place dingdong!!!! jus hold the back side if u got brains.

  • how can a software update fix a HARDWARE problem?? u dumbass! clearly u know nothing bout technology.....do u even know how to use the iphone, mr caveman,,,,,,,

  • Oh my fucking god, i'm sick of this i really am. The death grip? only effects low frequency providers, etc At&T in the states. I'm with telstra ( in Australia). The death grip doesn't effect me, i honestly don't know why, perhaps its due to australia's 21 million person population to The united states 300 million + population, i honestly don't know. But not once has the death grip effected my signal. So? well honestly i don't know.

  • LOL I really lol at this... The update is not changing ANYTHING, its only changing that you cant JAILBREAK your iPhone

  • IPHONE 4 SIGNAL LOSS IS A HARDWARE ISSUE NOT A SOFTWARE ISSUE AND CANNOT BE FIXED WITH A FIRMWARE UPDATE THATS WHY APPLE ARE GIVING AWAY FREE CASES...

  • i have only had a problem with my iphone 4 when it only 1 bar anything higher and there is no signal loss from death grip

  • ITS JUST A IOS 4.1 BETA HE USED:

  • As an iPhone repair person, I have to say that software isn't the problem, it is the metal band around the phone that is causing the issue with the antenna.

Software updates will NOT fix the issue, that is a fact, and anyone saying it will, is lying to you. Take this from someone who repairs and fixes them for a living.

  • You do realize that update never said it was going to fix it right? lol.

  • Get a life! Get a MAc!

  • Get a life! Get a MAc!

  • where did you get that background?

  • i believe that 4.0.1 all it did was give u one more extra bar which more the half the time is not even there. llol

  • the reception isn't fixed. The bars continue to drop. But I have 4.1 and my calls do not drop really anymore. Maybe once or twice, but I haven't lost a call. I have a video up too. I've held the iPhone any possible way on 4.1 beta and i continue to hold calls, but it is still a damn design flaw. So even the software technically won't fix it, it is containing the dropped calls.

  • its the hardware problem you morons.. get that shit... stupid apple need to admit it and fix that shit...

  • Just get a droid guys. It's basically an iPhone on verizon. But a better phone, and it's on a better network.

  • what is the image of wallpaper? it's so cool

  • Highly compressed Games visit: sssplanet>com

easy way to Unlock and Jailbreak your iphone os 4.1 , 4.01 , 4.0 visit: sssplanet>com

Mac Applicatios and Games visit: sssplanet>com

  • It fixes the signals acrucy not the antenna

  • where did u get that wallpaper

  • u_u you're very stupid...

  • I just thought that i would like to point out to you, that Apple have fixed the formula problem (when you dropped one bar signal, it went down two instead), but NOT the signal strength problem, they are fixing that with giving out free Cases and Bumpers with every new iPhone and they may be sending round free ones to previously bought iPhone 4's.

  • @dp33600 oh finally someone knows how to understand english, that is exactly what he said, but now everyone is making vidios showing that the software update doesnt fix the reception issue, of course it doesn't, its a friking software update

  • How the hell did you think that a software update would fix this?

    Are you an idiot?

No problem in the UK, reception is perfect!

  • 4.1 only removed the lie trying to hide the problem, not remove the problem itself. The problem seems predominantly hardware related anyway, so don't expect software updates alone to make it all better. Just doesn't work that way.

  • @TrollinTheWorld but iphone 4 is shiny i want one

  • i hope steve jobs die from aids so i could get myself a new bluray for my macbook pro.

  • @bigjonnyjon just stick the iphone 4 hardware inside the 3gs frame and call it a day

  • iphone 4 = epic fail

  • @carbonunit steve jobs had aids thats why iphone 4 is epic fail

  • alright people the update fixes the signal bar not the antenna, because apple said that when there are 5 bars it means theres only 3 bars so basically the signal bars are lying so now that the update is release, it improved the signal bars.

  • how does he have 30 gb ?

  • the update stops it from showing "no service" try to get it lower than 1 bar

  • dont hold it that way.... who do i sound like?? lol this problem is very annoying.

  • I can do the same thing with my 8Gb 3G.. I can make it go from full bars to 1 bar if I hold it in my left hand..

one comment about Jobs 'we're not gonna put a band-aid on it' statement.. Isn't the rubber bumper that Apple is giving away in fact a Band-aid?

    Just sayin'...

  • you should not show your serial number just for safety reasons

  • HELLO thats not how you hold a phone when your calling someone good work cover the antenna what would u expect happens to ANY phone if u do that.

  • you should call up apple and bitch!

  • ANYONE SAYING THAT THIS UPDATE FIXED YOUR ANTENNA PROBLEMS IS A COMPLETE DUMBASS. THIS UPDATE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ANTENNA. THE BARS ON THE TOP LEFT THAT SHOW HOW MUCH SIGNAL YOU HAD HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WRONG. APPLE MADE A WRONG CALCULATION ON THE FORMULA SO WHEN THE PHONE SAID YOU HAD 4 BARS, REALLY YOU MAY HAVE ONLY HAD 2-3 BARS. THE UPDATE FIXED THAT SO IT CORRECTLY SHOWS HOW MUCH SIGNAL YOU HAD. THUMBS UP SO EVERYONE CAN SEE

  • @ChadtheWhad I agree, but did you have to type that in all caps? lol

  • @xXxLAMBOFGOD12xXx haha just trying to make a point...damn this was long ago

  • @ChadtheWhad It was a good point though, and I did stop to read it cause it was in all caps lol

  • @ChadtheWhad right on bro, of course an update cant fix a manufacturing error, even a homeless man knows that.

  • Funny part is, you didin't even check to see if you could still make a call, despite the lower bars.

Every phone i've ever had, Nokia 2610, 3595, Motorola V300, Sprint work phone, all get bad reception if you hold it right. Never made a lick of difference in call quality or dropping calls.

People are hella dumb when they don't understand the facts.

  • which is why i buy my Pineapple software... apple just suck

  • this is iphone 4.1 BETA idiots. the real one fixed it for me.

  • Wtf? 4.1 is in beta. 4.0.1 is apparently the one that fixes it. It fixed it completely for me.

  • Your holding it wrong :P

  • lol, apple.

  • @palmtreeent561 dude calm down it's only a phone you should join the army with all that anger you have and if you haven't noticed there's only about a million or more cases about the same problem with the iPhone 4 so have ever heard the saying where there's smoke there's fire seems simple enough so chill out and consider yourself one of the lucky one with a iPhone 4 that doesn't loss signal and CHILL OUT !!!!!!!!!

  • i consider this video to be a logic or education FAIL.

  • Obviously a software cannot fix a physical problem.

  • 4.1? hmmm ... 4.0.1

  • Of course a software update is not going to cause your hand to become less conductive and allow wireless signals to pass through them better. That's common sense. The software fixes a slight issue with the way the Iphone displays your signal strength. It's more accurate now. This is because AT&T's signal is so horrible in places, Apple is having issues keeping up with there crap. If you want a real fix, get a case or get off the crappy AT&T network by moving to Canada. Oh Canada!

  • I think I'll stick with an my droid x... android much more trusted and reliable:)

  • @schellax thumbs up for android!

  • LOL iPhone sucks ass and Apple suck even more for not recalling this joke and replacing it with a proper model.

They now sell cases so they wont have to lose lots of money.. very nice move Apple!

Why did you even redesign it if all we're gonna see is this case?

  • death grip is OP

  • how did u get that nice wallpaper maaannnn

  • nokiaa babyyy

  • U say it's not the service provider it's the phone but you guys in America that are with AT&T are losing all your signal and dropped calls but honestly over here with o2 I've tried to get drop calls and all I end up with is down by 2 bars, I'm happy with the phone :)

  • Tbh its not just apple every phone till date has had reception issue when i put it down my pants.

  • how did they expect software to fix a hardware fault trololololol jobs taking a shit on you cunts.

  • Funny how the Apple fanboys always try to blame AT&T, when it's clearly the phone itself that's the problem.

  • My old Nokia with antenna on top also lost some signal bars when i put my hand on it.

I think Every phone does, problem is we dont want à antenna on top of our phones anymore, but à antenna works best when it is free on top ;)

  • who said it would fix the issue? DUMBASS

  • I'm still on IOS4 and I haven't gotten a single dropped call or shitty data yes signal bars go down 2 or 3 bars but when I test it still runs at full speed so I don't know guys :|

  • Fake and gay!!!!

  • @palishloko you are fake and gay!

  • how you think an update can fix this?

For shure ther will be an update, that gives you 1more line without changing the stengh of the mobile signalsxD You will see

  • i dont see the mistake, wheres the problem? he counts but nothing changes

  • @pewpewgun oh dear i think you have the shittest comp ever

  • Holy crap what is the intro song??? I recognize it from somewhere...

  • It wasn't meant to fix it. It just changed the way the phone calculates the signal.

  • @7Slate well there will be no fix... cause an update cant change the hardware

  • FOR ALL YOU FUCKING RETARDS, THIS IS APPLES 4TH VERSION OF THE PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes they did remodel it, but it is called the iPhone OS4.0....not the iSuper Phone 1.0.

  • @seespizzle lol. ppl are stupid if u dont like it ,return it . problem solved and plus its not only the iphone all smartphones lose signal if held in a certain way.

  • @chatokiller81 lol apple apologist. My smartphone doesn't loose signal no matter how I hold it.

  • @chatokiller81 if i hold my old nokia in my hands there isn't any signal issue...

get old phones you can throw them out of your window and they still work..

if you do that with your iShit you can throw them in your trash..

  • The problem is hardware! The previous iPhones showed too many bars previously, now every iPhone should have poor signal or death grip

  • doesn't have any Problems like this in Germany

    AT&T sucks!

  • its your own fault for buying too soon everyone knows that there would be bugs in the first edition of a phone. plus just dont put your hand over it...problem solved

  • @TheCallumBaillie but but but but if you wait for like 3 months then another iphone will come out and we cool kids buy it early because apple logos makes us kewl.

  • There is a new glitch for the iPhone. It smacks all it's users in the face for buying it too soon. Watch there be a new iPhone next summer.

  • A software update isn't going to help with the death grip because it's a hardware issue!!!

  • AT&T sucks thats it...

  • Apple never said the new release would fix the antenna. It would only adjust the software issue projecting a Higher bar rate that what it really was. Want to fix the antenna issue? Get a case!

  • @leafygreentree That's stupid. Apple should fix the issue. It's not our problem.

  • This is a load of crap it worked in the first place

  • just return to apple then you get a full refund within 30 days. Would you do that? I bet you would not do so

  • Alright you morons the update was only to fix the algorithm in the signal bars

  • If you don't like it, return it

  • @Heroes791 correct if u dont like it return it

  • Apple screwed you guys over good.

  • YOU'RE HOLDING IT WRONG!

  • lol yea it does because your signal is already rubbish =/

  • check my vids for a test using the signal field test mode hack on iphone 4 it displays the signal as numric -db

  • hey, apple announced they are using the wrong fomurla of signal strength, its apple's fault, in fact... the maaany many reconnects caused by iphone users, decreases AT&Ts network extremely ;)

(and hey, im german, i can type english words buut i try it :D)

  • AT&T sucks, that's all.

  • Maby its better to make an update that shows always 4 (or was it 5?) bars. =D

  • Hahaa so a 3gs iphone with 4.1 software is till now the best iphone?

  • omg no one needs iphones.

  • @Juka94 I used to think like you but one day while camping in the Sahara desert I was caught of guard by a grizzly bear who started to chase me I took out my iphone and used the one of the 10 thousand farting apps to scare it away.

    - I owe my life to Steve jobs the great.

  • the death grip is a hardware problem of course the os update doesn't fix it...

  • I love my iPad so shut up

  • @RichBullet

    herp derp

  • you buy a phone which costs 200 dollars by matireial and you spended 1000dollar and it isn't apple to get a nice antenna???

  • Bunch of ignorant Apple haters ....

  • @obergsson bunch of ignorant apple lovers, you guys who respect stevey so much never listened to what he said? "The antenna issue is caused by a software flaw!" that's what he said... So now what? You're gonna use software doesn't fix hardware mentality to argue? That will simply kill who you really love (apple that is). This situation is so darn ironic for you lovers. Argue or don't argue will still be your undoing.

  • if i take my iphone 2g in my hand i can loose 3 bars...stop with this shit.Come back in Apple store with the iphone, take you money and buy a nokia or a blackberry..!!

  • Make it drop a call! Because I can't. I used to be able to before the fix. After the fix I can't make it drop the call.

  • @QuestionMeWillYou Then you're not holding it right.

  • @Tomtomtom910 Lol!!!!!! That's funny!

  • I'm kinda glad the contract on my 3G doesn't finish until early next year. Hopefully they'll release a better fixed version by then.

  • @m18star I don't want to pay $200+ on a phone then put a case on top of it.

  • @selggiT I think it's worth it because I would get one anyway to protect the phone itself.

  • Apple admitted that they can not fix that issue with just a software update, which isn't really surprising, hardware problems can't be fixed by just a software update. The whole "it was a software problem" was to calm down their costumers, and I don't believe many people fall for that.

  • 4.1 actually made my signal bars go down on my 3gs WTF

  • @farbods0 An Apple representative stated the original problem was that a fault in the software made the signal bars appear stronger than the actual signal. The update fixed this problem, showing you the actual (lower) signal you're receiving.

  • Software can't fix that

    Duh

  • Ah well you can't blame Apple for trying to milk more money out of fucking brainless fanboys, I mean it worked with the iPad

  • You sir are stupid. Software will never ever ever ever fix hardware problems

  • software wont fix a hardware problem, i think apples lost their marbles

  • 1. It's a BETA version

    2. everyone that has an iPhone 4, just get a freaking case!! If fixes it!

  • @m18star u dont by a phone for that ammount of money and then put a case on it. just because Apple screwed this one up.

we can fix it by using a case. But apple should fix it. they should.

  • @TristanHoornenborg apple did screw it up, but they also fixed it. bumpers fix the problem. having a bumper fixing the problem is probably apple's sneaky sales pitch...

  • You're fucking dumb. Apple never stated the update would fix the "death grip". The update fixed the service bars to give a more accurate reading of reception.

  • 4.1 wasnt supposed to fix it.

  • No shit ! We have been knowing for weeks that the update wasnt going to fix the signal issue ? Where the fuck have you been ?

  • thats Apple! IT JUST WORKS! xD

  • I think that´s not a matter of Software, but the fact that Apple decided use the cover as

antenna so when u block the antenna ---> no signal.

Wht do u think? thumbs up for the vid!

  • You guys are dumb.

It's obviously a grounding issue. If you put a rubber case on the phone it removes the problem.
