i tried using fink and it said dev-tools need to be installed. Also installedTHE x11 app from apple. I am running mac os x 10.4.10 intel mac book pro 17 inch.
I've got KDE running on my Mac, mainly for Amarok.
Just wait until KDE 4 is released! KDE can be compiled against the native QT 4.0 libaries and not require X11. Someone has already compiled the Alpha version to be a native Mac app.
THAT'S AWESOME! I have Leopard and x11 but no clue how to get kde on x11. Please help me

To make it easy, download macports. After installing create a file in your home directory called ".profile". add these lines to it:
"export PATH=/opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:$PATH" and
"export MANPATH=/opt/local/share/man:$MANPATH"
in the terminal type:
"sudo port install kde"
this might take awhile...
Add a file called ".xinitrc" to your home directory and in this file add these lines:
"/opt/local/bin/startkde"
then Launch X11.app and it should automatically start KDE.

How did you do that and can it also work with Gnome apps and the Gnome desktop?
