Microsoft did kind of the same thing when they demoed the Kinect. the guy started playing a movie in the middle of the movie without him ever scrolling to that specific scene. which can't normally have been done unless, of course, the movie itself was cut to that one scene... but i'm not pointing fingers at either Apple of Microsoft... lol

Sending video and audio to big screen projectors like that requires pretty beefy cables and a bunch of boosters to get it up to the projector itself without too much signal degradation. It's quite a common issue in presentations like this. It's just a simple case of physics getting in the way lol.

@mallymahalik There is, it's just not the best viewing angle. The original iPhones (before 4) didn't have IPS panels, so you didn't get the best viewing angles. Also the video quality isn't all that great here. I remember watching the keynote after it went up on the Apple website back in 07 when this was announced and I'm pretty sure you could make it out thanks tot he better video quality.

But I'm currently shopping for phones, and personally, I'm not impressed with the iPhone when trying out the Samsung Nexus S, the HTC Desire S or even the HTC Wildfire S. The latter is what I'd personally want in an iPhone. Like the suggested "iPhone 5 Mini". A years ago, the whole point was to make a small phone. What happened? Apple is definitely not helping there...
