Its 2010 and people sit around wishing for jetpacks and hover cars. Yves had the courage and drive to take it upon himself to make the dream happen... 1:25 he boosts over the freaking alps!! I love this guy, hero.
This is generally pretty stupid. It looks like he can't launch on his own, so really, what's the point? Assuming it works flawlessly he still have to solve take off. This is just a guy for whom racing bikes at 120mph on the weekends wasn't good enough.
its the best technology we been waiting for a few years. sure i mostly think the army will use this. but this would also come in handy in future flying cars. oh yeah hehehehehe
i think this is revolutionary. it looks so compact and lightweight. imagine the military using these for solo ops - haha aerial combat. we'd have Boba Fetts comin out.
Not that I'm that kind that can't see the W A R word, but Santos Dumont comitted suicide after he saw Airplanes dropping bombs, I think that we need to look after the civilian use for this only first.
Buzz Lightyear to the rescue!! Looks like Rocket Lad got his idea from Toy Story.

have you ever heard of prototypes?
you have to test it, you have lots of money&time to have the first one
after that you have the data to build it in mass production
you know what to do, so its much cheaper...

The first thing I thought when he opened his wings was "Too infinity and beyond!" But seriously, watching him fly like that just made me feel good.

At just about 5-6 seconds into the video, if you watch closely, you can see him open up the wings to their full length.
