if you know well and use diminish the recoil, the AK wins but if you're not very good notes and your pulse is a bit out of control (like all humans) the m16 you best (though most prefer the m16 M4A1 M416 or ARE NOT the same)

M-16 is better because of the accuracy..so what if a 5.56 isn't nearly as deadly as a .30 cal, I would rather get a better group with a less powerful bullet, than a more deadly bullet with a worse pattern.

Ok the Ak has power no doubt and the m16 obviously has the accuracy but the major complaint about the m16 is the jamming and that is a legitament concern however the jamming issue dissolves when you take into account that the m16 has a multitude of subsequent variations for example the m4a1 carbine this gun is essentially the m16 however it has been built to be fully auto as well as reliable. The m4a1 is the gun of choice for the navy seals so it has been adapted to be as reliable as the ak47 a

The fire selector switch argument is completely stupid. The AK goes safe, full auto, semi auto because when a frightened soldier switches off of safe he's going to throw it all the way down to the last option to semi-auto, not full-auto, so he saves ammunition.

ppl fail to realize that an M16 will be just as reliable as an AK if properly cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. Many branches of the US military require soldiers to be able to strip clean their rifle with a blindfold on, which is why you don't hear much complaint from soldiers about their weapons preformance. They know how to clean it. As for stopping power, the AK obviously has more penetration than the M16, which is good if you're spraying through a wall and/or in a close environment.

I have shot both weapons,

AK is a Room Sweeper and decent weapon inside 100 yards.

At 500 yards with sights only I hit 9 of 10 in the head on a 6' silouette!

Ak has knock down. The M16-A2 is more reliable and accurate, give me 500 yards and I will make dog food of the AK packin crowd.

disculpa,eso solo en el counter,en la realidad la potencia da igual siepre cuando sea presiso ,ya que la primera bala de una rafaga de m16 sale del cañon antes de que se sienta el retroseso del arma (que por sierto te puede romper el ombro si no estas bien colocado ¿sabe?) aora bien ,en el counter la ak es el dios de la guerra :D

Ok this may seem crazy but I have an ak47 and an ar15 not an m16 but the advanced version of the m16. When shooting at the range I don't find my ak that inaccurate. To be honest not a difference I can tell. On the other hand if I was going to be shot i would much rather prefer the .223 round in the m16 vs the 7.62x39 in the ak47 Could be the difference between life and death.

a ak-47, sin dudas, es la imitacion de la arma de la alemania nazi mp44, lejos la mas moderna y mejor de la epoca, muy sencilla y barata de hacer, se destaca por tener un gran poder de fuego (al menos el doble que la m16) y a pesar de eso tener un alcance efectivo de 500 mts convirtiendolo en una mejor arma tecnicamente hablando, ademas de que no se atasca, como si le pasa a la mayoria de las armas EE.UU incluyendo a la m16.
