I get the impression that this woman hasn't seen the show she is so vilifying. While I am glad that it is giving many people a way to talk about the misgivings that our culture at large has, to choose sex in the city as a paragon of all that is wrong is inept. For one thing, by the end of the series every one of the main characters is married. The arc of the show is the arc that Marian Jordan has in her book, only with a more secular slant. Both can help to fight against superficial culture

I was in this position and it wasn't just any book that helped me it was Gods word the bible that helped. I was doing exactly what she says looking for love in all the wrong places but God saved me when I was at the lowest point in my life. He showed me how much he loved me and how nothing could ever come between us!! If you want to read any book about love read the bible!! He loves like no other man can ever love and he never ever stops loving no matter what you have done!!
