Fucking legend!! When I was younger I in the 90s he was up everywhere. Need to get at me homie, I'm trying to find someone to help me out with my style.. #gettingup
I grew up in Prince George's County, and I used to see Cool "Disco" Dan's tag just about everywhere when I rode the Metro into DC. I actually used to pass the time riding the Red Line by counting CDD's tags all over the place, and that is one of my favorite memories of riding the rails. It's actually kind of sad to hear about his work disappearing in the name of urban gentrification. He'll always be a part of the DC experience to me!
dan is a close friend and brother to me we known each other back in the days. he got in to boxing in Midtown in NW DC I am not doing it now because I only boxed for Midtown and I moved from DC. But I still train in TX doing good. Lil Thug
What you know about Lincoln Heights sandcrab!! LOL!! I lived in Lincoln Heights and Valley Green. I went back there last year and had to load up on some mumbo sauce!!! Cool Disco tagged up my hallway in Lincoln Heights.
Cool "Disco" Dan, go-go, mumbo sauce, and Ben's Chilli Bowl. That's what my hometown is about. It's DC baby. We used to call it Dark City, or Chocolate City back in the day. Lord knows I love myself some District of Columbia. Lincoln Heights, Eastgate, Clown Town, Simple City, Woodland--haaaayyyyy!!!!!
Is "Cool Disco Dan" an architect student at UDC? I heard the taggers ("bombers") used the font from class. Misdemeanor charges are not mentioned. I heard "Judge Somebody" put his ass out of town. Repeat offenses.
@beatsandmelodies from Dan "the reason for the archives is some people don't know about the music which has been heard in numerous rap songs by LL Cool J, Grace Jones, RUN DMC, Kurtis Blow, Public Enemy, Dr. Dre's legacy, Beastie Boys, Salt N Pepa, Kid N Play. It's just to let the world know that DC is one of the most unique cities in the US when it comes to talent. Some people don't know about the old school and the history of DCs music.
Yep. Disco Dan, Baby. I was sittin' here, wondering if, with the internet, anyone ever found out who that guy was that wrote "Cool Disco Dan" all over the DC area. Now I know. It wasn't even artistic. It was just Cool Disco Dan all over the place. Nice to meetcha, Dan. Stay Cool. Stay Disco.
Dan's rebellion spoke for all of the people who lived in DC and couldn't afford to "own property" in the very city they lived in. Long live Cool Disco Dan!
when i was young,i used to see his name everywhere.the first time i think seen the name "COOL" DISCO DAN was in S.E. down by the big chair.LEDGENDARY!
Disco Dan is a legend...I always wanted to know who he was, now I do...his tags was everywhere cause it basically was only him holding it down back then.
lol... I never knew who this cat was, but I remember as a kid countin' how many times I would see his name tagged on walls. Ever when i was on the metro bus, trains, or in someone's vehicle. When I was little I remember dude's name was on walls all over the city...lol
this is crazy i got this link from wikipedia. i bet dan would never in his wildest dreams thought up some shit like this. the dude who shot this is the MAN!!!!!!!!! if you have ever been in dc in your life (unless you were under a rock) you have seen this mans work period. and props to kmil cause i didn't even think about the FIERCE FIGHTING CREW (FFC). DMV stand up lol
dude is a fucking legend, im in my late 20's and i would see that tag all over the city and his name is wherever so you know he been around the city.... cool cat he would come that 24th st graveyard often NORTHEAST for life............

It would have been classic if he had "tagged" that Metrobus that pulled up behind him. Otherwise, please no more "tags" DC is finally looking like a Capital City.
and it is interesting to note that JUST LIKE THE VATICAN, DC IS ACTUALLY IT'S OWN OFFICIAL NATION STATE, thereby the notion of it being the capitol of any nation relies on fundamental double standards rooted deep within the deceit of even just conceptual control. love love though
yoo, i remember when i lived in brentwood back in 1990-1991...i wuz 4 years old, but i remember seein his tags up in different buildings when i went to the barbershop or caught the trains...i neva knew who that cat wuz but just knew his name...years later after falling in love with hip-hop..little did i know i caught my first inkling of hip-hop as a young tot b4 i even knew about the culture..
I went to DC from Tasmania for a holiday in like 91 and remember being blown away lookin' out the train windows and seeing CDD just fuckin' everywhere. There was no one like that in Aus then, probably still isn't. Fuckin' ace!
I used to send CDD shout outs when I worked on a DC radio station. He a cool dude. I lost contact with him years ago, actually about 94-95. Hung with him a few times... he got around when it came to them tags
i've seen his tags everywhere...my first time seeing the face besides the write up int he Style section of the Post years ago...it still amazes me ALLLL the places he's tagged
well we are talking about 10+ years ago. It's not that easy now but I did see him a few months ago. Not that I even really know him well. He's not an easy person to locate.

Donating gogo? YouTube leaves me about always just complaining. Tuning or poor sound. I heard music data files are disqualified easily on YouTube.

DD,
One day, maybe despite yourself, you will own property. Someone is going to
de-face your property. Perhaps then, a light will come on.
Please find a productive way to share your talent.
