The pickup versions were immortal - they were still making them in South Africa until the mid 2000s! The styling did not alter much over the years - here in NZ the pickups were introduced in the early 1980s as the Datsun Roadstar, and from the front was identical to the sedan, wagon and coupe models that were replaced by the 120Y in 1973-74!
this is one of the best japanese car. when i used to live in karachi i had the same vehicle. my father bought brandnew in 1971 and my elder brother is still using the same car.even after 38 years still it is in a good condition. we have painted for more than 5 times and right know it has 478000km on it. what a great car.these days they dont make those types of car. thank you so much for posting this great video, this is aman dayani from toronto canada.

こいつは速かった！
たかだかシングルキャブ68psの1200ccで0-400mを17.8sec!!!!というスカGとさえ大差ないタイムで走りきって、血気盛んな若者はみなこぞってB110型サニー1200に乗りたがってまさに「ジャイアントキラー」の始祖だったと思います。
小生が今乗っているトヨタヴィッツ1300/2004年式も踏めば180+出る上、一度0-100km/hを11.3sec（ベンツB200と対等）で走り切るなど1300cc/87psのCVT車とは思えぬ快速ぶりでその点往年の日産サニー1200を彷彿させますが、日産といいトヨタといいこの種のコンパクトカー/大衆車は洗練されて上質になった反面「往年の元気さ」が失われているのは残念だと思います。
日産さん、現行マーチに1618ccターボのNISMOバージョンを是非製品化すべし!!!!!

今見たら驚くほど小さな車ですが実用車としてデザインが破綻してないのは流石。

型式B110ってやつか。このクーペは長い間レースに使われた名車ですね。「隣の車」とはカローラのことで、初代のサニーは排気量1000ccだったのにあっちは1100ccで、それを上回ろうと1200ccにしたそうな。馬鹿な意地の張り合いのようだけど、こうやって競争しあって日本車は発展していったんでしょう。
