That was awsome and i love this version of over the rainbow now i know who sings it its my favorite version im gonna make me one of these sticks to thanks steve your ideas rock !!!!!!
I hold you responsible for my inactivity. I can`t get to my workshop because there`s always another of your damn videos to watch. LOL. Thanks. Steve the Woodworm.UK
What I would have given to have seen this video a month ago. My mother tasked me with making her a light house. Seeing you lay those sides side by side, taping them, then rolling them...I went through so much effort on mine. Makes me feel rather ign'ant.
@sh0rtbuskid Haha...nah I do the same thing and want to overcomplicate stuff. I always have to remind myself to figure out the simplest ways of doing things. And marvel at the sheer power of wood glue.
Do you know you make excellent video's? You make excellent video's. You should get an (irregularly) returning spot on some woodworking show or other, with your reasonably rapid suggestions. Maybe along with the Wood Whisperer; different style and intent, but same level of quality.
I liked the style of the video, it really didn't require a whole lot of explanation and I found it much more entertaining. One of these every once in a while is just your style and I think it's great. It's one of the reasons why I subscribed. Keep it up!
Great project. Really would have loved to see it in your normal style though....the music is a bit much for the entire video....from a viewers perspective.
Another great idea. THANKS! I might not make the rain stick, but I can think of some nice uses for the basic shape. How many "How To" videos are out there with no explanations, yet so clear. Terrific.
Steve, another good one. Did you try different mesh screens? It sounded good, but I was surprised with the mesh being so much bigger than the stuff you used inside (rice?).
@spilperson I used rice for the filler. I experimented a bit with 1/4" mesh, but the rice seems to want to clog up. I think I could have added even more baffles to slow down the trickling. But I was tired of cutting them out!
Technically perfect as always, musically eccentric but none the worse for that, conceptually a mystery. I live in the UK, we have....erm.......rain, lots and lots of rain. Why would anyone want a big stick of rain? To torture desert dwellers? You need to explain this one to me Steveo.
Man, im not even interested in wood working, but you give it a different perspective to me for some reason. Caught my eye with that cube in a cube project.
@stevinmarin No problem man, I think its how your all laid back with the videos. Others ive seen are all serious and what not. Yours just seem to be more fluid and not rushed.
@AnthonyAOK Same here. I have no idea why I'm watching videos about wood working lol. But these are addictive. And Steve reminds me of Dr. House eheh.
joke no.1: your handsaw looks like a handsaw! XD
question: what that rainstick is used for?
joke no.2: that kinda not sux.

I made roughly the same outer structure only a bit smaller. Makes a great wooden mug for us ten fair geeks. Your glueing technique works great.
