  • Yeah my Quaker is scared of red too

  • I'm pretty sure all birds are!

  • The hardest birds to handle are those that receive improper care, who are abused or are displaced or generally unhappy with life for any reason. At that point, some of them are unmanageable by most.

I'd say the best "starter" bird though is a budgie, because they exhibit the traits of a big bird, in a little bitty package.

  • he's very cute, would you recomend a quaker as a pet?

  • I do not recommend that anyone who is not really experienced with birds own a Quaker Parrot. First, they are illegal in many states. Second, they need TONS of positive behaviour reinforcement, or they turn into brats. If you've owned other birds, it's a good bet that a Quaker would be good in your care, and would be a great pet. I have loved my Quakers intensely, and they are good little friends, if given the right kind of attention.

    Hope that helps!
