  • @ClareAer It's serving more people than the old stump of a line served

Dalston To Clapham in 40 mins from Late 2012..??? sounds good to me and I no longer live in London or The UK

  • @MultiCrazyman77 Well doesnt bother me. i'll take it when its going that way. as i pointer out i dont see the point(As of yet) of the line. but im very sure it serves a purpose

  • The line seems to run all round london . even down to east croydon which they dont show. seems like a maze to me.

  • We are all heading off from Crystal Palace for a Bagel Beano Sunday 23rd May at 10.30 am. The day our tube opens on the ELL. Come along and take a trip to Brick Lane for the best salt beef bagels in London. mmm!

It's just for fun so bring the family and wear a silly hat. Hope to see you there.

  • I'm interested why they didn't choose to use the traditional "tube look" rolling stock - it looks just like normal overground carriages.

  • they are normal national rail stock (with an adapted interior for inner city use). it is going to be merged with national rail lines to create an outer circle line. i assume that using regular carriages will be better for capacity and speed

  • Thanks Andy.

What you are saying sounds sensible.

Although I'm a little dissapointed I won't be able to get on to a "tube train" at West Croydon !

  • @andyshearwood

I think one plausible reason is that, as much of the distance is on NR metals, it would save more by not adding the fourth rail and messing with line voltages.

  • @patrickov

Sorry for misunderstanding. I thought that guy was talking about why not retaining it in the Tube network.

  • I hear you Patrickov. All though is doesnt go into central London, we have the JLE to thank for the connection via Canada Waters. Not to mention the cross rail link due for 2017 completion!

  • What are they going to do with all of the um do dos who infest the area ???

  • Of all the 33 Boroughs in London, Hackney Borough is the only Borough that does not have an underground stn/tube service. Bethnal Grn is in Tower Hamlets Borough.

  • If the ELL would retain in Underground then the western part of Hackney will receive extensive Underground service even though it still doesn't enter Central London. Pity about that, but looks like ELL's still a better connection in this regard than NLL...?

  • @fizi247 thats wrong Hackney is the only inner London Borough without an underground station

  • @MrItherandom Pls read this msg very very carefully. Their are 33 boroughs in London. Of all the 33 boroughs in London, Hackney is the only borough that does not have an Underground/Tube Stn.

Mrltherandom, which part of my msg did u not understand? You are quoting exactly what I've stated, so how could I be wrong?

  • @fizi247 that isnt true. hackney is the only borough NORTH OF THE THAMES that has no tube stn. most boroughs south of the river dont

  • @fizi247 you haven't replied to the messages I've sent to you about this, I presume you've ralised i'm right now?

  • @MrItherandom hackney is the only borough north of the river that has no tube

  • @charliepeto yes thats true, nut we were talking about Hackney being the only inner london borough without a tube station not Hackney being North of the river

  • @MrItherandom If I appear to ignore you, it is nothing personal other than you are a total waste of space! You mentioned Croydon in Surrey and I mention Hackney in LONDON as the only LONDON BOROUGH not to have a tube until now and you still think your smart!

You need help m8, geography was not your strong point at school! Please dont reply!

  • @fizi247 I'm sorry but I have to reply when you say sumfin as provocative as that. Considerin I live in croydon, I fink it's safe for me 2 say that CROYDON IS A LONDON BOROUGH (in fact the largest by population), therefor wat I was sayin was rite; Hackney is the ONLY INER LONDON BOROUGH without tube acces, other people are agreein with me, even I myself got that fact from the news and other transport/construction forums. I'm not tryna to insult or argue with you, I'm just corecting your mistake.

  • did u make this yourself?

  • I live in croydon. Cant wait to have the east london line.

  • what does he mean when he mentions canada water? "hitchcock moment when the producer of the film is seen in his own production" or something?

  • hitchcock always appeared in the background of a film he directed

  • ok so what does it mean?

  • From wikipedia: Many of Hitchcock's films contain cameo appearances by Hitchcock himself , the director would be seen for a brief moment boarding a bus, crossing in front of a building, standing in an apartment across the courtyard

At Canada water station there is a guy coming down the escalator at 3.33... who is the producer I assume.. so appearing in his own film just like Hitchcock always did.(ie the Hitchcock moment)Hope that makes more sense!!

  • i get it now it makes more sense ur right!

  • GREAT VIDEO! The entry signs could look a bit nicer, though.
