... A wonderful tribute to a wonderful actor. I became misty - eyed while I watched it . I was 13 in 1966 and I've been saying... "Head EM UP!.... Move EM OUT! for over 49 years NOW... No Kiddin... Thank You so much,
And I was shocked and saddened to hear of his tragically premature death,,,,,,,Great Job on this tribute,,,,IF ANYONE HAS NEVER SEEN MR. FAVOR ON BONANZA, THE TWO EPISODES HE IS IN ARE ON MY PLAYLISTS,,,,,,,,,,R.I.P. Eric Fleming,,,but Mr. Favor lives on,,eternaly pushing his herd to market on the Sedalia Trail, bearing the responsibilities of his title, the man on who all depend,,,,,,, TRAILBOSS
This man who was mindful of peoples rights and made sure no one was treated unfairly, with actions and words of a strong deep voice that epitomized leader, hero, duty, courage, fairness, the scales of justice and was in my opinion the epitome of manliness......then I goggled him to find out where this great actor went after Rawhide(wondering why I'd never seen any movies with him as a LEAD ROLE)
I love reading these comments from people who feel just like I do,,,,I'm 32, I grew up with my dad watching Rawhide whenever it was on...I was probably 13 or younger last time I watched it with him...I'm ashamed to admit I remembered Clint and Wishbone and only a stern character(which must have been Mr. Favor),,,in 2007 I purchased Season 1,,,I was immediately blown away by this man, this Mr. Favor, this man who everyone in the drive respected, including myself,,,
I loved watching all the episodes of Rawhide as a wee boy, Eric epitomised strength, sincerity and he had a great aura of presence, a very handsome rugged man who had a great voice and exuded ruggedness. A great loss, most tv actors nowadays couldn't lace his boots.
A very rugged man, I remember him from old re-runs of RAWHIDE, he always exuded sincerity and had a great voice like Gregory Peck or Robert Fuller. without a doubt he was a great star, a fine looking man.
Good to see a tribute to Eric Fleming, Gil Favor was one of my earliest childhood heroes. I hadn’t seen a Rawhide episode in 45 years, then I came across them airing on the TCM channel. On viewing only a handful of episodes I see no reason to change my opinion; he is still a hero to me. As Gil Favor he was strong but gentle tough but fair I like to think a lot of Eric Fleming was in Gil Favor. Mr Flemings death was a tragedy and from what I have read about the circumstances, so unnecessary
@1stfallofsnow Can you answer a question for me?? I remember Mr. Fleming passing away but I was only like 14 or 15 and I wasn't really into westerns all that much. What did Mr. Fleming die from, for the live of me, I can't remember.
Nice video...I loooove Eric Fleming! What episodes were the pictures of him holding a baby and dancing with a woman (I assume his wife) in his conferderate uniform? That last kissing scene you showed was from a strange episode...but a delicious kiss! Thanks!
@Kappybelle "Incident of a Woman and a Baby" is the answer to your first question. The dancing pic is from "Incident of the Married Widow" - that woman was neither his wife nor his widow; it was a really fun episode. "The Incident of the Druid Curse" was the last "kissing scene" on my video. It was quite a strange ep, but a very delicious kiss!
I tried to post a comment on this great video when I saw it yesterday, but apparently it didn't take. (Probably because I didn't hit the "Post Comment" button before I exited. A big "duh", sayeth me.) I would certainly add my five stars to the Ratings and deservedly so. Love to have your comments at the video sites of mine you may like, PJ. Thanks so much for your gracious email. By the way, who performed the vocal and harp on this "Ave Maria"? Very nice. Cordially, John.
Hi, John! I DID reply to your comment but I'm not sure why it didn't go through. Loved your videos! Celtic Woman, Lisa, played the harp and sang "Ave Maria." Go to your profile and see what other good things I said about your videos!
Clint Eastwood got all the glory in retrospect. But Eric would probably have become a big star in his own right. I'm glad that you, too, remember him still!

I, too, was in love with Eric since "Rawhide" began airing. He was tall and ruggedly handsome and had the most gorgeous blue eyes!
tallblond1947 3 years ago
I agree with everything you say. He was quite unique, as an actor and as a person.

He was definitely unique in every way. We lost quite a man at his tragic passing.
