Its just there, taking up space. And thats how indie music is; sure theres variety, but theres no filter...so you're STILL getting mostly crap to sift through anyways. So why should the record industry be shunned if the end result is the same?

Say what you want, record stores are sorely missed. I used to live across the street from a Tower Records when I was in college in Washington, DC, and it was a part of my life as much as school was. It is sad to see music stores gone from our daily lives. I blame no one else but the industry themselves. When you price a CD $23.99, I don't care how good the album is, you will lose the core group of buyers. Tower, Virgin, all gone. Never would have imagined that day would come.

It's easy to understand why the music industry suffers. The music executives in the 60's and 70's were old sigar-smoking men who didn't know shit about pop-music and realeased things people wanted to hear. Now there is all these young people who only puts out the music they like, and think other people like. And now as the cd-sales decline they put out "easy listening" songs and hip-hop that is excellent to use as ringtones. But piracy can be blamed also to some extent.
