And the officer should have sirens on, the truck pulled out but the officer was coming in at a very high rate of speed, he should have slowed and moved to the next lane or slowed and put on the sirens waited for the truck to move. There is no way its the cops fault, it is YOUR responsibility to maintain a safe distance / speed ratio to prevent from rear ending a vehicle if it stops suddenly. That applies to ALL situations.

No, the officer should have had his lights on the whole time! He only used his siren when he was halfway thru an intersection or wanted someone to move. And just because the officer has 'bright lights' dont mean anything. He should have had the sirens on the whole time! No matter what the situation, you rear end somebody, it is YOUR fault, 100 percent. The person that got rear ended saw the cop, and no matter what, you HAVE to 1) allow enough space between you and the vehicle in front of you to stop in time, 2) travel at a safe enough speed to stop in time. No situation whatsoever makes the wreck somebody elses fault when you rear end somebody, period.
If you need a siren to tell you a cop is there, youre a poor driver. Failure to yield.

I'm not a cop nor a big fan of them, but that car was just plain stupid...probably on the cell phone--you have to watch the road at all times; a cop car with its lights on was obviously visible to most of those cars. The one before that where the guy turned right in front of the cop was stupid, too--again, not paying attention.
This accident was not caused by the cop but I have been in an accident caused by a cop.
I was exiting a freeway off ramp on the green light when a cop made a right-hand turn from the street parallel to the off-right against a RED arrow and I had no time to stop so I t-boned him. He lied and said that he had a green light. My insurance company found me NOT at fault but the wonderful City of Los Angeles never sent me a reimbursement for my deductible. They said the city does that all the time.
the siren was on the whole time from the first time he entered the intersection of the wreck until he got out of the vehicle. know what you are talking about before speaking. also the reason he didn't have it on the whole time from the other intersection was most likely because he was not in that big of a hurry such as responding to a shooting versus responding to a person at a store that was detained for shoplifting.

stupid fucking people should be paying attention to the road. they might not have seen teh cops lights, but wouldnt you stop if you saw a car stopped in front of you? you dont just say, "oh hes stopped, but i have a green light so i'll keep going even if it means crashing my car" you have to be aware of your surroundings while your driving. because there are stupid people in driving in cars that probably couldnt figure out how to open a childproof bottle of aspirin.guy in jetta proves that...

you think cops are only there to pull you over or ruin your fun or whatever. my dad and brother both have run into burning buildings to save people in trouble no matter who they are. and cops get accused of bogus stuff all the time like beatings or harrassment. some ARE guilty, most arent. so have some respect! they're just doing their job, protecting and helping. talk to any cop and they will tell you they became a cop to HELP people. same with firemen and paramedics.

you guys should be told by someone who knows the rules. they dont have to have the siren on all the time, just lights. sirens must be on when approaching intersections or traffic, or are in pursuit, etc. same with ambulances/fire trucks. and they cant have either on if they are just driving around. all you cop haters, my dad and bro are both cops and help more people in one day than you probably do your whole life. i hope someday when you need the cops, they dont come to help you. fuck you

I'm not a cop nor a big fan of them, but that car was just plain stupid...probably on the cell phone--you have to watch the road at all times; a cop car with its lights on was obviously visible to most of those cars. The one before that where the guy turned right in front of the cop was stupid, too--again, not paying attention.

This accident was not caused by the cop but I have been in an accident caused by a cop.
I was exiting a freeway off ramp on the green light when a cop made a right-hand turn from the street parallel to the off-right against a RED arrow and I had no time to stop so I t-boned him. He lied and said that he had a green light. My insurance company found me NOT at fault but the wonderful City of Los Angeles never sent me a reimbursement for my deductible. They said the city does that all the time.

the siren was on the whole time from the first time he entered the intersection of the wreck until he got out of the vehicle. know what you are talking about before speaking. also the reason he didn't have it on the whole time from the other intersection was most likely because he was not in that big of a hurry such as responding to a shooting versus responding to a person at a store that was detained for shoplifting.
