nice, but i think the dulcimer was created for its acoustic tonal qualities and portability, you play it like an electric guitar, thus might as well just have a guitar, and a guitar looks cool, but its just my opinion.
@semiLivedj if you're going to use that argument for what should or should not be used in certain ways than i would point out you can make the exact same argument about the guitar.
considering the electric guitar is less than a century old, and rock is only about ~60
you're not going to find an electric guitar that dates back a couple centuries to establish any particular history of playing guitars the way Hendrix did.
so at that rate, why bother with electric guitars then?
@TalbotAlligator No you cant, their are things you can do on guitar that you cant do on this, and their is nothing you can do on this that you cant do on guitar,Its a novelty item, conversation piece. Can you tell me what it can do that a guitar cant? Tlii then,my argument stands.
but actually your argument doesn't stand, its still stuck thinking instruments are limited to boundaries
MY argument does stand because instruments are always pushed beyond their "bounds", leading to new techniques or even new instruments (thus we don't play 1 string bow instruments)
its the difference between believing music is about the instrument and you just use it
and believing the instrument is just a tool to be fiddled with to suit the musician.
@TalbotAlligator But this isnt an instrument being pushed beyond any bounds, why would a musician try to push the boundries on an instrument that already has restrictions from another instrument, that doesnt make sense, musicians play different instruments for sound and tone,it would make a good beginner instrument, untill you couldnt grow anymore, and then move on to guitar,Are you a musician?
dude there isnt any originality in what you playing ... and maby try learning a real instrument

Hey! I thought you were calling it the shark? Anyway - it came out super-nice! Cool lickage.

I think the overall term "DulciCaster" will cover the whole family - this is the Shark model of the Duclicaster. Q
