@CRHAILE1 because he is one of a few really good youtube-drummers!! there are a lot of other bad videos noone needs but thats a great performance i thing.
99% of ensemble drumming is keeping the beat, sounds obvious, but many miss the basics. Easy to ramble on a long solo keeping your own time but do it and stay consistent with the context, harder than it looks.
i have to give my compliments to this fellow, crisp, on beat, and using only one bass drum does what many need two to accomplish, excellent foot. Great co-ordination.
And BTW, I have heard the best live: Baker, Bonham, and Mitchum.
@iwantou not sayin its not a great solo or nothin it is....but his other leg is hidden by the mass of the kit specially by the toms but if look closely you can see his leg just by the rim of the snare,....and its movin pretty dam quick when the bass gets fast....not sayin its definately double pedal...but i am not convinced...Just sayin....AMAZING SOLO MAN.....BIG THUMBS UP:D
i love doing triplets, you can do anything with them, move them around the kit, making them slow and steady so they sound tight as shit, speeding them up and going mental afterwards lol. ive been playing for 4 years
gotta say that kit is one of the best sounding ones on a home vid recording ive ever heard lol . ur from somewhere up north im guessing cause its a basement lol texas dont know about that where im livin
Go back to finish your half made house dude. . I think your wife is standing behind the door, angry as hell. . . just kidding! Well done. . nice drums to!
Put the Bass on the beginng of the triplet. The other is put the bass in the middle between the hands now you have all three combos. Also not trying to be a jerk lol Try putting your RIDE over the third tom
or maybe over where it would be over 2nd and 3rd.That little move will increase your speed getting to that ride from anywhere on the kit. if you dont like you can just put it back. you can get to that cymbal quicker in those two spots.
Tama Starclassic Maple. Snare is Tama G-Maple 13 ply. Toms are 10", 12", 13" and 15". Bass drum is 18x22. Cymbals are Zildjian Projection Crash "A" Series custom. I have owned several drumsets but none sound as good as Starclassic Maple in my opinion.
I don't think there is any 1 specific reason to have 2 bass drums, rather many reasons. But the 'biggest' reason in my opinion would be the look. Also, regarding your comment about kick drum technique, personally, when I drop my foot down on the pedal, I hold down long enough to muffle overtone. I don't hurry to release the beater. Gives a nice solid thud.
not bad how long u been playing? yea and u might want to wear headphones before u lose hearing. and ur kinda repitative, have fun with it, lose urself in the beat.
Where are the headphones at man? Dear god I can only imagine the ringing in your ears after a set like that in a concrete basement with no insulation anywhere... Nice solo indeed, but I have to say some of it does seem kinda rushed. Keep it up man!
what kind of drumset is that?? sounds great!!

does it sound as good? are you as talented a player as this guy? i can't see it with a comment like that. kit size doesnt matter.
Hellotheres 3 years ago 2
if you can't play one drum you can't play two...who cares how many drums you have. I'll school you on the rim of your bass drum.
madchops82 3 years ago 2
That doesn't mean shit, double kick sounds great, but you're not a drummer if you can't play with what you're given.
Reignsound 3 years ago
If I set up my drums to where i have 1 tom and a floor tom, i would still sound better than your "big drumset" lol.

Are two bass drums not meant for people that have difficulty getting their foot off the pedals with a double-pedal after they stroke the bass drum?

I don't think there is any 1 specific reason to have 2 bass drums, rather many reasons. But the 'biggest' reason in my opinion would be the look. Also, regarding your comment about kick drum technique, personally, when I drop my foot down on the pedal, I hold down long enough to muffle overtone. I don't hurry to release the beater. Gives a nice solid thud.
