It means that it is in a file format or CODEC that Studio doesn’t recognize. What kind of file and format? Do you know what CODEC is used? Right click on the file and look at “properties”

when making a movie 1080p from a file also originally 1080p how long is it supposed to take to make a movie? because I made a movie over 20 minutes long and it took 24 hrs to complete. Also as I worked on the video it was hard because the preview kept lagging and I had to base my editing from only the sound, is that normal? is it because the file is so large? I have windows xp

Are you running the video from a Dedicated Video Hard drive? You need a very powerful machine and very fast Hard drive when using 1080P HD. Your symptoms are common for people that are not and have slower machines and dedicated video drives

Pinnacle Studios sucks...it sucks ballsac...I'm always having a problem with it. Whether my audio and video are out of sync, or my audio speeds up, or my video speeds up, or lines go across the fuckin screen, or i get connection problems, or it just crashes out of nowhere....they did a horrible job with this program.

I use studio 11 and let me just say the product is complete trash i wish I had never bought it now. let me clarify it will record sort of i have to run another non pinnacle program in along with it just so i can record game play in colour, about 40% of the time program will crash for no reason, most of the effects don't work properly and end up crashing the program as well,

Hey guys I really like making videos I have a Dazzle DVC 100 and I edit videos with Pinnacle I've had this for about 4 months with no problems but now two problems happened I don't know how to fix them! Please help me.

Problem 1)When I edit the video I put music in and it's fine when i preview it the sound doesn't show up or anything.

2) Sometimes when I record I preview it and it's fine and sometimes it really fast/sped up.

The only other work around if you dont know the locations is this: every time studio asks you for a file name you must go into windows explorer and search for the location/path. Once you find it, write it down and then you must go to that same location/path in studio to relink EVERY file. If you have have hundreds of files as some people do, this can literally take many hours/days to do. Either do it or redo the project which might be quicker sometimes. Good luck. Paul

then you have not used good file management and have not told studio in your project settings where to put all your files. This is hugely important and everyone reading this had better start doing that as this is exactly the problem that can occur when you dont. If you dont know where you files are how the heck do you expect Studio to know when it crashes?see next comment

The only alternative is to Go into your old project files( Studio saves backup versions) and find the group of projects with the same names followed by 001,002. ect.( it will look like this yourproject.001, 002 ect) Open one of those and when it asks you again to find where the missing files are, you must relink to the drive and location that you saved them to. If you are asking the question how the heck do I know where they are?, see next comment for more

I have a question, somone please repsond asap. I was working on a video, and i jut got finished the video, and i saved it, so i tryed to make the file, and it said "failed to render effects", so i exit out the program, and go back in and open my video back up and it asks me to find a certain file, and it gives me the option to skip, or skip all, or exit, i just exit and when it loads my video i get all theese question marks and "?" on my videos and you can't see the video/picture, what happend?

A question mark means that the studio program cannot find the files and is asking you to relink them one at a time as it asks where the file is located. You must not skip. Since your current project file is now saved with the files missing( it is showing the question marks), it will not ask you again. This project file is pretty worthless so you are pretty much hosed.

So, I uninstalled Pinnacle to see if I would get the space that I lost back because I couldn't manually find anything that big in any Pinnacle folders....but I didn't get the space back. So, I diligently went through every damned folder and file on my harddrive to try and find what was causing 30gig of space to disappear. I finally found it. My son had downloaded 38 one hr episodes of a TV series...the folder was 42GB!!!! So, it wasn't Pinnacle after all. I deleted the folder promptly!

The second hard drive should probably be at least 2 gigs to give you enough room. When you need to you can remove one or more movies to a backup CD or similar device in order to make more movies. Ebay has quite a few external drives that you can purchase, a lot of them new, and a lot under $100.00

You have to have a separate drive to make your movies on. The harddrive on your computer is not to be used for this

as it takes up a huge amount of space.

Purchase a separate hard drive and you have to direct the movie etc to this drive.

I have a 130GB harddrive and before I installed

Pinnacle I had 63gb used space. After I installed

it, it went to 69gb....no problem. After I make the

first movie my harddrive shoots up to 120 gb

I deleted the hidden file with all the data

which had 460mg crap in it but that hardly

gave me back any space------HELP!!

Most likely, you will have a micro card in your cell phone if you gonna carry videos around. Just convert file to 3gp and flash to the "videos" subfile of the card. You must have a card reader/writer.

you have to go to the audio under the video.. there is a yellow line that goes the length of the video and you have to take that line and drag it to the bottem of the box.

There are 2 ways. On the far right side of the interface, where your video/audio run off the screen, you'll see a "speaker" icon. Click it to completely mute the audio portion of your video. Secondly, you can grab the audio itself and bring the sound down or up. Look for the yellow line in the audio track/portion of your video (The track that runs along the "microphone icon" on the left side. "Click" and drag up or down. Now,do the same somewhere else down that line. Experiment. This Help??

Paul: Need help! I use Canon HV20. Shoot in HD, Cinamatic Mode. Use Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 11. In settings: Should I set to use NTSC Progressive Widescreen or HD1280x25p or 30p? In vid and audio Preferences- all boxes checked and to "set codec automatically". I'm getting horizontal lines on images that move or when I pan. Slow motion is jittery. Sure Studio( or any other editing program) will work fine for this..just import all of your stop motion capture frames in numerical order into the time line and play them back..
