It's not that good a film. It's certainly not the seminal heist movie it's supposed to be. For a start there isn't a heist. Funny how the French worry about American cultural imperialism when so many of their famous directors of the 50s and 60s were in love with American cinema. They all act like their in an American gangster movie here. And the smoking? I never seen so much in any film!
What's poorly thought out about it, in saying that I don't think it's the seminal heist movie it's supposed to be and that the French crime movies of the day were essentially derivative of American cinema. You're the one who just puts down comments with little thought or explanation.

Good film, but I prefered Le Samourai. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the end of Bob le Flambeur.
