Have you ever been in the country? We are made out to be way more censored than it is. Firstly, the internet filter is a widely criticised policy even though it has good intentions. And because of the current hung parliament and greens holding the balance of power in the senate I can't see it ever getting passed.

Secondly, to date, Julian Assange's passport has NOT been confiscated. Also he was detained in England NOT Australia and Australian officials in England have offered him all the legal advice they would offer any Australian citizen.
