Doug actually played at my wedding in Long Beach in 1996. I can't imagine or remember that evening without thinking of his music. Incredible. Fifteen years later I'm getting divorced and here I am watching Doug's music on YouTube. Ain't the Blues Evil?
I fist heard Doug sing and play "The Panama Limited" in 1966-67 at The Dome in Virginia Beach. We were both sailors in the Navy then. There was a large crowd...at least 1,000. He played two guitars...a Martin D-28 and a Fender Strat. He did Panama Limited on the D-28, open tuned with a bottleneck. He had the audience mesmirized. The young lady sitting next to me had tears running down her cheek. You could hear a pin drop! He later played Chuck Berry's "No Money Down on the Strat. He's awesome!
watched Doug MacLeod play this at Camp Street Cafe in Crockett, TX. One of my favorite performers and songs of all times! thanks for sharing its power!
Where's this guy been? Thanks for introducing me. If someone hadn't sent me a link to a Tom Rush clip, I never would have stumbled in here. Dou'g from where and plays out where? Do Tell!
i remember seeing him in Lucille's BBQ. I bought one of his Cds and then later on in the night he pionted at me and said the naxt one was for me. i got so embarassed.
Doug was Emmy Lou Harris's first musical director when she started The Hot Band and he plays a mean Taylor acoustic gee tar. Doug you sound better than ever.
Definitely check out some of his electric stuff too, since you will probably never see him play it live ever again. Too bad his best selling CD "Ain't the Blues Evil" is on Volt/Fantasy the same label that screwed John Fogerty & CCR out of all their copyrights.

Hey Dubb - how come New Panama Limited isn't available on iTunes? It's the only song that's not on "A Little Sin"?
