So I just want some info on it to help me convince my mum etc. First off could you send me a video of how to bow it? Try to keep it in the words for a fifteen year old girl who dose not have a wide vocabulary hahaha. And also on a scale of one to t

  • You are really great!!I Just watch out your arms, if you can open your armes like a flying Eagle, that would be perfect.!!go go go!!

  • I want Chinese violin sooo bad ㅠ~ㅠ.... I would spend 250 for 1 or pay 50 dollars just to hold it :(((.... I want to buy one soo bad... How much is this instrument in china?

  • I STILL don't get how the bowing works

  • Why make a D.I.Y. video with that horrible scratchy, whiny sound going on in the background?

  • nice, the construction workers also stop to enjoy your music

  • DID U LEARN THE ERHU IN CHINA?

  • could u play only the horse racing part?

  • playing racing horses, definitely not a beginer in music. i bet you have a violin background. kudos!

  • oh and good job on the erhu for just two months hopefully u can make more so we can learn more about the erhu and songs謝謝

  • how I miss my new Chinese violin at home. :( here nowhere to sell it. :(

  • @sea2007w i just bought one from america on ebay. only 94 dollars including shipping. its from hong kong. just type in erhu and look for one that cost 5o something. its has 30 something tax and togetheer 94 dollars. it even comes with a instruction book in english, though it takes a long time to ship though

  • Find a high quality erhu from melodyofchina, there are many good one there.

  • did u learn erhu by urself or did u hv a teacher? i started last year but stopped for a bit and wanna get back, and thought it'll be a good challenge doing it the self-taught way. any tips helpful (: from singapore

  • Is the erhu a very difficult instrument to play. I played the Clarinet in High School and I find that the Chinese Violin would be interesting to learn how to play because it has such an interesting sound.

  • it's funny how people call it the "chinese violin" when it actually existed hundred of years before the western violin

  • Grate job! A phrase of Horse Racing, and so on.

    You uploaded also Japanese Toilet.

    I'm Japanese Erhu player.

  • who is the drummer ?? nice Beat.. just kidding.. GREAT JOB Keep it up.

  • How hard is this instrument to play? I am a violinist and am interested in learning the erhu.

  • do they cost a lot?

  • I got mine from beijing for approx US$50-60??

Yea just add abt another US$50 if you want to buy it locally

  • that's all? i figured it would cost maybe around $200 or so. is there a website i can purchase it from?

  • u should try ebay there some cheap ones on ebay!

  • the only thing about buying an instrument on ebay is you have to know what to look for. I'm a flute player and I see a lot of junk on there. So I would need a person who know's what to look for.

  • GREAT job!!! you should make a full video of Sai Ma

  • That's great! The music you played are very tranditional. Sounds like you have learnt and practiced for a very long time.

  • lol my god, the background noise!!!

  • First comment after 4 months. This is impressive as hell. YOu have a natural talent. Me too. :S Ok Im kidding. Ill post a vid of me playing that song too on the Erhu. :D soon. You are talented man!

  • Wonderful. You have a natural talent for this instrument. Your tone is good. Urhu tends to make sad melancholy sound, so it would be good to balance that tendency with learning some cheerful pieces. There was one famous piece that mimics the song-birds. Much fun to play and an encore piece. Looking forward to see you on one of those Chinese New Year program watched by millions all over China.

  • Hello

    abc123...

Your clear and concise demonstration of the erhu was most impressive. Thank you for this opportunity to witness your talent and fine musical form.

    Peace,

    Max

  • ay i know that song at 1:50 i consider a fine er hu player myself but your pretty dam good i like how you put more vibrato on that 1:50 song

  • Dude, you are not the first Laowai I've seen playing Erhu, but surely the best. Hooray!!!

  • is violin your primary instrument, I wonder? you do amazing job :)

  • are you chinese white or mixed? i cant tell hehe

  • Two months? That's incredible talent for two months. Much inspiration, thanks.

  • Wow that's very imressive for two months! Nice vibrato. was tht first vibrato achieved by pressing on the string? i find that one easier than the one where you rock your finger. Nice playing towards then end too. "A Horce Race" am i right?

  • what really? 2 months? You made me depressed T___T!! I learned it for 4 months now and play like shit

  • yes, that is great for two months. how much do you practice? post up more. =] you have good pitch. something that is very important for erhu.

  • dude that's pretty damn good for 2 months, man =)
