From what I gather, Macedonians back then over 2000 years ago were Greek, but now "Macedonians" aren't Greek or anything close to ancient Macedonians, they are a Slavic people that immigrated to that region and decided to call themselves Macedonia. Just because they named their nation with the name Macedonia in it doesn't mean that Alexander came from those people, that's just retarded.

They had a dude called the Basileus (King) and then they had the nobility. Greece thought they were above such things and that they were much more civilized with the Polis.

Sparta was a kingdom, Ipirus was a kingdom and Thessaly so Macedonia was not anything out of the ordinary. The only passange that mentions Philip as a barbarian was in Demosthenis's Antiphiliipicus and that is the opinion of one man for political reasons.

He had to prove his Greek ancestry in order to particiapte. Epirus and Greece were both considered backwater by the Greeks. Sparta was an Oligarchy actually, and Thessaly was more like a loose confederation of city-states that would elect a generalissimo or what they called an "Archon" to lead them when they thought it necessary.

Actually, the track with the sound of wind gusts, occasional voices, and I guess animals in the background, only make this track more powerful...like ancient voices in the background, creepy but awesome all at the same time. I'm one of those who don't understand why Vangelis had to hog the tracks. So many beautiful themes. Anyone knows where the version of the boys exercising on the sand is? That's a cool rendition of Titans!

I realized that this soundtrack actually isn't played during the night scene in Babylon in the original cut of Alexander.

It is played during the scene where Alexander is crossing the mountains and talking to Ptolemy, and also when he is riding with Philip and talking to him before his assassination. So I changed the name to better reflect this.

Also, this was incorrectly titled. This was played when Alexander and Ptolemy are in the Hindu Kush mountains discussing going further east or south into Sind/India. They spoke of Prometheus being chained to the mountains and then there is a mountain that has a one-eyed face in the rock formations.

This is correctly titled. In the final cut, in the ending (at night, in Babylon) Alexander, on his deathbed, talks with Bagoas. That's where you hear this music. You probably have it also in other scenes too, but the night at babylon is probably an appropriate title for this music.
