Do you have any advice for any settings or mic placement? I've tried everything the manual said and nothing has fixed the sound. It gets random busts of noise in the middle of recording so I turn the gain down but as soon as i do that i barely get any sound
i just bought the PG27USB, very happy of the sound quality. Unfortunately the signal LED doesn't lit up normally. I have to actually yell to see it green and it's nearly impossible to have it orange. I've adjusted the mic gain on the Shure but impossible to have the signal LED green without 100% clipping in Audacity (and i'm at 0db setting in the knob behind). Any idea if there is a setting to adjust that or could it be faulty?
@schneo Ok i found a solution. I put the mic slider to zero on Audacity and the mic gain to max on the Shure and it seems to behave normally then. Not sure if it's the way to do though.
hey BrickSh0t7, what microphone would you recommend to record enviroment sounds? I wanto make a teaser / trailer and i need to record various ambient sounds. Wind / tree / birds / cars going by. I also want to record in good detail, motorcycle exhausts sounds. Any idea? or i have no idea what im talking about and theres no such mic? ;)
PLEASE!!! Anyone help me out here, i am looking for a good condenser mic that will offer HIGH QUALITY sound for my acoustic & electric guitar+amp , tell me is this condenser mic good for acoustic & electric guitar+amp with no problems??? if this is not the condenser i should get then could anyone please tell a good usb condenser mic around 50-150 dollars?? thanks.
It seems like a generally warm clear Mic, but seems to have a bass resonance, something of a peak in the bass response. Now that might not be a bad thing. I have a somewhat reedy voice, and the bass might help smooth out my voice a bit.
"USB! Plug in play?" Bypass is great for tight budgets and quick but not for good quality. I record music and "your intermediate equipment" such as a mixer, preamp. gives u more dials to get the sound where u want it before u even tweak it in the recording program, u will find yourself allot more options and more free will to customize your sound. Dont put limits on ur recording potential. I got a yamaha MW 10c mixer. cost me less than $200.00...Cheap but great investment. I recommend.
Just..... Welll Have you counted how many times you say "You know?" I'm sorry your vid is great, but it catched my attention and at a point, it was the only thing I was paying attention to..
@elbeaver883 Yeah, I know it is a problem. It is a hard habit to break. Thank you for watching the video despite the mindless "you knows". :) Thanks for the feedback and I will continue to work on curbing my bad habits.
do you think the PG27usb has much more bass than the AT2020? cuz i am now hard to make a decision between PG27usb and PG42usb...as i heard, the bass of PG42usb is a lil small comparing to the PG27usb. but PG42 comes with a shock mount and a case.....really hard to decide. just mentioning, i just want a home record microphone. so which do you think is better?
For some reason, my PG27 USB mic won't work and become detectable unless I play around with the stand adapter, like screw it or unscrew it until the green USB light turns on. Would anyone help me about this issue?
would you say this is better then the audio technica usb at2020 microphone ? or the samson co1u? when actually recordin does this microphone have clea vocals?
@PestVic Unfortunately, I am not musically talented - outside of Guitar Hero that is lol. I suppose I could strum a guitar on video so people could hear it. You know what, I will do that. Give me a week or two and I will put up a instrument test video. It won't be amazing music, but it should give you some idea.
@BrickSh0t7 very awesome man :) definitely if you could just strum a chord then play it as an arpeggio (one string at a time) it will let us know how well it sounds when each string rings out as well as how punchy and crisp chords sound :) thanks man! OH and if possible. if you have an amp. mic that as well if you have an electric? haha maybe to much to ask but thanks for the strum video in the future :)
@PestVic Wow! I cannot believe that I forgot this - but I sent the microphone back over a month ago. I don't know what I was thinking. Sorry to get your hopes up on the instrument playing. I wish I would have thought of that before I sent it back. Apologies for my absent mindedness!
