Those who I know and are my mentors don't have to show off to be appreciated. You and I will agree to disagree on this subject as I have seen idiots in the draft community ruin good animals by their ignorance. Part of why I no longer belong to a draft club as I am tired of attitude. So we will agree to disagree. I too show so yes, I DO know what goes into each hitch.
@SorrelBay: the preifert ppl know what they are doing. they are not "idiots in the draft community". Let's face it, this guy has skill! mad legit skill! Also, fact of human nature- people like show offs! And 12,000 lbs of thundering hoof blazing around the arena is a damn good way to show what you've got!
While I admire the skill it takes to drive a team of 6, I see NOTHING admirable about the Priefert as a whole. When many of us try so hard to be ambassadors for our breed and they come and like the true Texas nature, show off....I can't help but shake my head...
@SorrelBay I have to say that you have no idea how much work and pride that the crew of Texas Thunder puts into their work. And yes you are right it does take alot of skill to drive a 6 in general. But have you ever done a stage coach run like Jason does? prolly NOT!!! People like him, promote the draft horse breed in a HUGE way!!! We as fellow draft horse ppl need to thank him for decicating his life to helping keep the draft horse breed alive!!!
I seriously doubt it's the first time it's been done. Maybe the first time it was done by a professional who was not drunk, and maybe the first time it was done with planning.
Still, that was pretty awesome. You can tell as soon as he was in the air he was going to clear it. He even landed well.
