dude, u cant have just guitar without bass. you need them togeather, it sounds better. the bass give the music its overall tone and makes heavy songs heavier.

go listen to music that has an emphasis on bass, sometimes more than guitar. like (old)Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, (old) mudvayne, some Iron Maiden, korn, Primus, Rage Against The Machine, ANY band that plays funk,

i have listened to all those bands alot except for mudvayne but to me all the bass in there songs sound the same not that the bass in em is bad it does add to the song but playing bass just isnt as much fun as guitar theres not enough sounds to chose from

Sublime and HED PE are two other good bands that are bass heavy.
