i personally prefer Ubuntu (Ubuntu 8.04.1 sucks IMO). I tried openSUSE but i couldn't do anything in it (I'm too dumb i know, i got lost in menus), but now i'm waiting for final version of Ubuntu 8.10 (now using alpha 6 and except bluetooth everything worked fine for me and is a lot better even though is alpha) i have great expectations with Ubuntu 8.10

thx i'm thinking of trying openSUSE 11.1 with KDE as WM cause i personally prefer Ubuntu for Gnome and for now i'll stick with Gnome as default WM but i didn't like the KDE on Ubuntu, felt pretty crappy but i read that openSUSE has a very nice implementation of KDE + that it has some stuff that seems pretty sweet. The downside is that i'm used with Ubuntu and i don't know any code for openSUSE and it will b very confusing at first cause i like to use the terminal a lot

I'd stick with Ubuntu if I were you, it's the most popular, easiest to use and fastest Linux Distribution. Not to mention, everything works out of the box.

No, you'd just have to re-learn a bunch of stuff you already know how to do on Ubuntu, all because a bunch of nerds can't play nice and make a standard way to do somethin'.

Cuts aside, at best you'd waste a bunch of time learning multiple ways to do things^. At worst, you'll just get confused, pissed off and want to go back to something else; also a waste of your time if what you have works for you.

Hola!! Puedes instalar la kiba via 1 click desde la página de opensuse. También puedes buscar la dependencias que te falten en buscar software tanto en opensuse 11 como en Factory...A mi me pasó lo mismo y tiene fácil solución. ( siento el retraso )
