  • Ever since I heard this song back in 1976, I wanted a job busting broncs for the rodeo.

  • Thin lizzy perhaps are not my favorite band (but i like it!), but i think that Live and Dangerous is the best Live Album ever.

  • why this track isn't on the live and dangerous dvd ?

  • 3 people are Indians.

  • @unravelled1962 I see well, I got both Roberts Wild Horses CD's brought them nice to have. I think Robertson's leave Thin Lizzy was good becouse i Think Jimi Bain and Robert was a good duo.

  • @unravelled1962 Also Foreigner (best of Live 1992) and Deep Purple & Journey (almost every live on youtube)

    :)

Lou Gramm and Steve Perry & Ian Gillan probly Rocks Best Singers (my opinion live and on studio)

well Ian Gillan Is bit of Heavy Voiced man 1970-1973 then his voice got nada today my opinion i think Deep puple should get a fresh singer and retrie Ian Gillan hi voice aint as heavy as 1972

Else Lou Gramm and Steve Perry what stars their voice fits Rock.

I got one CD with UFO :D

  • @unravelled1962 Well I don't care so much if it is over dubbed, I think is master Live Captured Heavly Bass and Vocals I think None can touch a Live like that.

  • wow

  • Quite simply, one of the 4 or 5 best rock bands ever. EVER!

    Lynott was a friggin' god!

  • Live and dangerous only had the drums as live recordings according to their producer(sorry can't think of his name. ) this from the BBC series "The Record Producers". But they could really rip live as this clip testifies. I spose they just wanted that perfection on the record.

  • Love this band! Truly none better live. Interesting that in an extensive interview for the BBC radio doco -"the Producers" later made into a book, their producer, Glynn Johns(?) I think it might be another famous producer- anyway he was the guy who produced alot of Trex and Bowie well he says for live and dangerous the only live trcks where the drums. I spose they wanted perfection. But they killed live from the stuff you see on youtube.

  • Wish they could have slotted this onto the "Live & Dangerous" Dvd that came out the other year??? Love this song. Always cheers me up after a bad day?? Listening to Lizzy

always takes me to a better place Period!!!! No other band comes close!!!!!

  • i was at this concert...thank you rita and john maslen...we went to many more ,,i think i was 7 at this one xxx

  • Lizzy were possibly the greatest live band ever. certainly Live and Dangerous is still listed as the best live album ever, and that says it all. Maybe is was Phil's uber dynamic personality, maybe it was the two lead guitars, either way it set the standard for other bands. Despite the many line up changes, (and there were many you narrow minded Gary Moore haters) the band kept its ethos and were magnificent. Phil Lynott set out to create a guitar band and he created a legend, RIP Phil, you did.

  • Hush hush boys, no use trying to educate the masses..If one can't understand the genious of TL, raw and subtle, so be it. Better to enjoy this with soulmates, let the rest BE TOLD what they listen to, I'm still in love with you, TL. Grtz from Amsterdam

  • just listen

  • Wonderful song, great great group...

  • what a song pure quality best vocals ever

  • i hate being an american growing up in this decade. I wish i was irish during the reign of Phil

  • @hipper44 No you don't

  • got this on vinyl :)

  • these morons who want to slag lizzy what the fuck are you on this website go off it we dont want to read it

  • Philip Parris Lynott !! He dress up so hot :) I love the way Thin Lizzy Dressed up like. They always took on Live Preformance!

well they never did a studio well!

BUT Live Thin Lizzy were killing :)!

Can't belive it's acully over 25 years now since he died Rip Phil.

''and P.s Scott Do I have to say more he look sexy! I wish there were Rock like this still Live in my life.

  • Phil was the MAN !!!

  • phil u were the man.....shame there aint no one around to match u ....sexy n the best music ever... thin lizzy all the way..although limehouse lizzy r nearly up there..next best thing..n there lead singer .blink n u would think it was phil xxxx

  • In '77 no one wanted them as a supporting act, because at every tour they made the main act audience Thin Lizzy fans :)

    It's true.

  • @TheRealOzzie234 so true, remember when they played with Queen and Rush?

that must have been amazing sort of like 'music education night' LOL.

    Yep Lizzy ruled!

  • Some the best twin lead stuff ever....always remember when jammin to these old turns....no computers....no wireless....no digital....all anolog baby. Just a pile of amps and go till they blow lol. Will never be anything like again. Im 50 yrs old...I was there and I loved it.

  • a friend of mine told me that the only thing `live` on this album is the audience

  • @unclemort1960 well if your friend said so it MUST be true, not the greatest live album ever recorded anymore then i guess, lets just call it the greatest album ever then, live or not

  • @unclemort1960 Tell your friend to buy Still Dangerous...it's basically the same tracks that are on Live and Dangerous, sans the overdubbed parts. Thin Lizzy were brilliant live. This performance right here is 100% live, right down to Phil's mistakes during Scott's solo. The band (or just Phil) wasn't happy with how it came out so it didn't make the video (dvd).

  • @unclemort1960 not true

  • This is the definite Lizzy lineup for me..I just love this!!

  • thank god 4 bands like thin lizzy. rock on

  • Where did you get this it wasn't on the DVD.

  • WISH I COULD TURN THIS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @chit599 watch my Cowboys song I got It Turned up a inc

  • Phil Lynot was called singer bass etc dude in Thin Lizzy.

He was Thin Lizzy is the ONLY Thin Lizzy and also TRUE MUSICIAN !!!

  • Gorham & Robertson were the ultimate guitar duo!!!! Moore was a fill-in as far as I was concerned!!!!

  • 1977 Was the greatest year in the history of music.

  • @fukinblowme 78

  • Brilliant.. RIP Phil.

  • Is there any greater joy for a long time thin Lizzy fan then watching your one and a half year old child jumping up and down and clapping to this song? SHE GETS IT! I'm a proud pappy today. Bless my little Daniela.

  • great great guitar players!

  • GREAT BAND!

  • great live band one of the best

  • Cmon, why is this not on the dvd/ video, it should be,, does anyone know why its not ? as for journey qtips,, have you sen em with this arnel pinida,, tell you he is good,, dont get me wrong,, not in the same class as phil,, but he is good

  • @MrTinlizzy It's likely not on the video bc Philip made some mistakes during Scott's solo. Also, Scott and Brian were probably not happy with their leads in this performance either. I like this version, but Thin Lizzy (especially during this era, 1977) held themselves to a pretty high standard. This performance just didn't make the cut.

  • thin lizzy opened 4 journey in chicago in 1979 and blue them away be4 journey took of in the 80s

i was glad to see it

  • do my eyes decieve me, or is THIS from the Rainbow '78 concert? WHY WAS IT CUT OUT?!

  • why wasn't this on the Live and Dangerous dvd. Great performance.

  • wow [ hope we meet dead dog cuz phil was was one of the great talents of our time and your lack of respect for the deceased is only a curse on your own family and self

  • I like cows, Boys!

  • Oh YEAH!! I still have the 8track and the Craig Power Player.

  • In the 70s i seen thin lizzy several times

always a warm up band never a headliner

but a raffter shak'n band that should have been a headliner Its true i remember Queen opening for bob segar

    great old video "G"

  • hey good people, check out the ANTHRAX cover of this tune!.......enjoy.

  • i love thin lizzy and i met gary moore once,i gotta say he wasn't the friendliest chap

  • wow- no comment.................thank you....

  • Love you,,,still out here and always will be xxxx

  • excellant bon rock!

  • Comment removed

  • fuck you guys

gary moore is one of the best guitar players ive ever heard

  • Comment removed

  • He's good and technically better but not as tasteful as Scott or Brian (keyword is tasteful). He's too into his speed playing like Satriani so that only guitarists can appreciate his excellent playing abilities. On the CD "BBM" (Baker Bruce and Moore he gives Clapton a run for his money.

  • i agree that he is into his speed playing when he played with lizzy but because he was more of a metal guitarist in the 70's and 80's. i like him more for his blues work because thats when he really plays with feeling

  • I would agree with that as well. Hear his playing on the BBM cd from 1994 - it's tasty and masterful

  • we keep reading folk saying gary moores play makes em cry. t dose me as well to think i paid £40 qid to see a cunt like him i must be mad . all he dose is tell fans to fuck of . and he is nowt but a pub player .

  • Comment removed

  • why are you talking like a cunt lad you know nowt about the job so shut it till you do yanky boy . we lost 3 more lad today cos of your fucking wars . why dont you have wars you only fight in the United States . we have lost 199 up to aug 12 2009 it is fucking mad what good is it doning any one

  • This is a music video on youtube , just shut up . Also stop typing with an accent , terrible grammar and spelling ability of a 4year old .

  • hey up yanky boy see you still have a big gob and dont know when to keep it shut . BUT I HAVE SOME NEWS FOR YOU GARY MOORE IS STILL THE BIGGEST TWAT IN MUSIC

  • is gary moore a good man or a bawbag

  • whos that introducin the song?! it can't be Scott surely!?

  • if you lads who hate gary moore like i do . have nowt to do go on gaey moore songs like Still Got The Blues (Live) on you tube and slag him off . all them twats on there think he is a music god

  • lads!!! Cough! Cough!!!!!!!!!!

    haha

im not one to do this purposly, if i see a fair comment il reply..

  • saw gary moore in april he was rubbish all he did all night was tell fans to fuck off

  • he was like that when i saw him 2 years ago, treats his crowd like crap cus Downey got a bigger cheer!

  • thank you gary moore is a total twat

  • i agree iv never liked him to be fair.

lets hope hes not the replacement for sykes now.

  • i think he will his gigs this year were mostly half full leeds was not even that . so he will need the work . man what a twat he is all best form lizzy fan 1ST time i saw em was 1979 at bradford and gary the twat moore was with them

  • i think tbh everyone is fed up with him now, his fans are actually turning against him because of his attitude.. and really i dont blame them

Lucky! Im a youngen that iv only seen Lizzy now, whats a shame is they are my favourite band im completely dedicated.

Moore just has really spat on what Lizzy did for him.

I really hope hes not in the new line up because it will put me off seeing them again.

    'the gary more show'

    hes such an asshole!

  • RIP phil

  • Bad quality of the video but who cares Lizzy ROCKS!!!

  • awsome song

1st complete song i learned to play on guitar

  • if lynott hadn't died they would have been the best rock band evur right know bigger than ACDC Styx Journey or Kiss simply the best

  • I dunno about better then AC/DC but deffinently really close. I Love Lizzy, I just Love AC/DC a little more. Been listening since i was a baby, singing the tunes since i could talk lol. Now 20 so.

  • In my opinion man, Thin Lizzy its something more than Rock N Roll.

When you hear songs like this or Dncing in the Moonlight, Still in Love with You its like wow.

And the melodies in the guitar are jsut pure magic.

    Anyway, AC/DC also rocks.

  • Yes. They do have a very special sound to them. Just as AC/DC as their own special sound with the large blues influence. Its really hare to put either one in second place.

  • brian and scott are superb, guitar heroes. i like acdc but there not in the same class.

  • @collihill Exactly!!!! This is my favorite Thin Lizzy song due to Brian & Scott. This guitar duo in this song is unmatched!!!!!

  • @diegoescolochog I couldn't have expressed it any better- well said

  • @diegoescolochog ACDC sucks.

  • @PapyMandarine Sure they do, biggest selling rock band ever, never fail to sell out every gig they do. Yeah I wish my band sucked as much

  • @rockandrolleracdc The sellings don't mean anything. Look at Lady Gaga's success. You're a faggot you and your band, get the fuck out.

  • @PapyMandarine If not for AC/DC you would all be listening to shit music like Lady Gaga! Go read a book about good music. You dont have to like them just appreciate what they did for music. You calling me a faggot just proves your a stupid fuck whit who has no life and no experience in being civil with someone. Grow up, grow a pair and start thinking before you chat shite

  • greatest band ever

  • Cowboys life, is the life for me... :-)

    RIP Phil

  • running free with the buffalo, HERE I GO!

  • He doesn't get that bend and pull-off from the fourth here that he does on the studio version. That just kind of caps the whole thing.

  • Brian Robertson's solo on the studio version is, in my mind, the greatest guitar solo ever. I could just play it over and over, ad infinitum. He comes close here, but the studio version is shitless.

  • Agreed, :)

  • My one of my funeral songs (along with Nothing Else matters by Mettallica) whenever I go!! The first cd I ever bought at 15, L&D. Not exactly what a 15 yr old girl should be buying, lol The swagger, those eyes, the man. Philo, we miss you!! You flew the Irish flag well for us!!

  • @mammysmurf well said

  • If this man was still here he would be blown away with the amount of people who love his music and those who would love to have seen him live.. Had that honour. Flying the flag for the Lizzy. Still Out Here. :)

  • Tax cuts mean cuts in services?

    Hmm?

The framers had no income tax because these "services" you talk about arent constitutional. Theres no money for the required services because we spend too much of it on crap that isnt constitutioanlly mandated.

Tax cuts only result in service cuts if were spending too much.

You sound like a mush brain liberal that didnt study economics.

    Way to go buffoon!

    Little minds of mush!!

    Its the spending stupid!!!!

  • This should of been a special feature on the L&D dvd as an extra as it's not included in the main show.

  • i wish I could've seen him while he was alive...

  • is this song about brown the clown and new labour what bigger cowboys then them. -- I am just a cowboy give all your money to banks roll you over trun a round and you nowt . but us and the banks have . . all best from yorkshire

  • Im the one who saw that lineup and I thought it was odd too.

I saw them all at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1978.

    It is a strange lineup.

  • Think wot a mess we'd have been in with another ten years of the conservatives!!!!! Doesn't bear thinking about. Tax cuts means cuts in services, stopping the minimum wage.......return of hunting with dogs...wot are you on about?

  • Truely the best!

    The band.

Phil Lynotts voice and those shivering songs!

They always give me the thrills, it's beautiful!

And live, - even better! They will live forever!

  • I saw Thin Lizzy with Kansas and the Cars back in 78 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.

When I watch videos like this, it makes me shiver.

Its one of those things where you were there, but at the time, you didnt realize that you were there.

That proves the old saying that youth is wasted on the young.

Its a shame we have to get old isnt it?

    This stuff is timeless!!!!

  • Damn, wish i woud have been there!

  • Interesting lineup...

  • How so?

  • Zoso!

  • um... ok that's a good start. How about answering my question?

  • Your question, respectfully, makes me think that you're a douchebag, and I'm (finally) growing tired of arguing with dolts online about pop music. All the best!

  • I'm not attempting to start any kind of argument?!

I'm asking you a valid question and simply trying to have an intelligent conversation about the band. So if if you want to respond in a child like fashion then I think "Dolt" applies to yourself rather than me.

  • Holy jeez. OK. How many Irishmen of African heritage do you know of who lived as cowboys? I think it's interesting (and extremely cool) that he wrote a song about being a "cowboy" when he's from a place not known for it's tumbleweeds, plains, etc.

  • Oh shit, I apologize. I thought we were talking about a completely different comment. I'm the dolt.

I think The Cars, Kansas, and Lizzy is a kind of strange but great lineup. Sorry, doh.

  • Ok, this is getting confusing... I just went back a few comments and saw what you were originally talking about the line up of Kansas, Cars and Lizzy in the same gig. I thought you were commenting on the line up of Thin Lizzy itself. *screams in confusion*

  • Again, apologies. I had posted (somewhere) about how cool it was for Phil to write a "cowboy" tune, and I thought you were going to lecture me about racial steroetypes, etc. As I said, I am the dolt.

I was talking about the show lineup rather than the band lineup, but I can't think of any other band who had several big lineup changes that were each brilliant in their own way. Which is your favorite of the Lizzy lineups?

  • lol that's ok.

um, gotta be with robbo & scott. I never really got excited about Gary Moore even though I've seen him a couple of times. I find Robbo's playing infinately more exciting. Him generally being a massive showoff on stage but completely having the goods to back it up.

As for Sykes, Bell etc, nah.

  • Completely agree. How about White?

  • I don't know much about White and his playing style. How bout you?

  • I've just never been a fan of keys. Not sure why, they just don't speak to me like guitar.

  • Groups like this come around only once.

  • The reason why god built a stage xxxx

  • phil R i P.. this is awsome..thanks for posting

  • Where did you get this video?

  • This song will be on Rock Band 2 next week.

  • Video not loud enough.

  • Then...Turn your sound up lol...

  • amazing song, they go into boys are back in town after this i think, and the roar they get at the start of it! whoa!

  • Man what a song. Has great lyrics and composition, killer guitar solo...what more could you want? Really captures the "loner but its alright" feeling.

  • Well and I searched for the right christmas gift, I gotta check about the Live and Dangerous DVD!

  • I have this album on vinyl and I used to guard it with my life at parties back in the 80's. I LOVE the cut to The Boys Ar Back In Town at thend of this. You can hear just the start of it, but it is fanbloodytastic.

  • how bout those cowboys, they suck but tin lizzy rocks......

  • How bout those Dolphins !!!!! Like Thin Lizzy they rock.

  • what a great song!!! it reminds me the hot summer nights in the island of Lesvos in Greece 2 years ago.. Thin lizzy is the kind of band that will stay classic for ever.

  • it just goes to show how good this song is. my 2 year old son, yes 2, i played this in the car and every time we are in there he ask's for the cowboy song or are you ready, my wife isn't to happy but i am

  • Ahhh! Thats awesome! This is now my 2 year old daughters favorite song as well! We listened to it like half a dozen times today driving around. Yeah, indeed, does show you what a good song this is....

  • Brian and Scott are a hard guitar duo to match!!!!

  • how did you get this? i cant believe they left it off the dvd, what a classic!

  • u have the cd pass it in

  • Hey tell how you get on this Video,it is unbelieveble that is not on the official Video

and DVD from the Rainbow show,it's the shame

that brilliant song left on it!!!!

  • They dont make them like this anymore :(

  • these muthafuckers invented twin lead guitar.i love em

  • As a "HEAD BANGING" youth Thin Lizzy were one of my favourite bands. I had the album Live and Dangerous which was played so much i'm sure the neighbours new every song.

  • what a great song.

  • when I lived in Sheridan, Wyoming I would crank this tune with the speakers in the window and the neighbors all loved it!

  • wow can this song be any better

when he died it broke my heart 1st bad i ever seen

  • one of the best live albums EVER.

  • I thought he overdosed???
