  • Check out the Christmas message and sound "glimpse" of the new 2012 album on the group's official website . sounds brilliant! Can't wait. Too long a gap since last Lp

  • grey's anatomyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • Fascinante!

  • Great band and a really good film. Nuff said.

  • love this song. its so incredibly optimistic, just like volver.

  • I love this song, and I love this movie

  • You know it was a good thing, the best thing.....

  • gazzz paachooo!!!!

  • the best thing.... ¿Por que sera que con esta canci'on me hace querer estar tirado en alguna playa tomando algo frio como una birra o una orxata? ainsss ya quiero verano!!!!!

  • the best thing

  • Just a great, great tune. Came across it (and the group) recently when watching Volver (which I thought was superb).

I'll now sample more of their music.

  • start with "Foxbase Alpha" and then "So, Tough" and then luxuriate in the masterpiece that is "Good Humor"

  • Sarah Cracknell is a real star. I love her.

  • Just been to see them at bloomsbury ballroom where they played the whole of foxbase alpha as well as some of the newer stuff....fantastic!!

  • That's really great to hear. That must have been a kick to hear all of "Foxbase" live -- will forever love that album and its Swingin' London feel.

  • I absolutely love this movie. Didn't know this song was by Saint Etienne.

  • one of my favourite Directors, i went crazy happy when i found out they were featured on the movie, as i love this track so much!

  • One of the best groups, and one of the best director's...well done video!

  • Sarah Cracknell and Penelope Cruz!!That would be like dying and going to Heaven!!....Oh moonriver!!

  • TALES FROM TURNPIKE HOUSE is just an indicator that St. Etienne hasn't run out of ideas. These three should spend the rest of their lives in a musical vacuum and keep on churning out these wonderful, beautiful songs. ooooh, make it happen!

  • J'adore!

  • Is this Penelope Cruz in the clips for the film??

  • Yes, is Penelope. she plays the main character in the movie.

  • Recently I've been going over some of my old Saint Etienne albums - imagine my surprise when this track comes up in the middle of a Spanish film like Volver! Sadly, Tales from the Turnpike House has been rumoured to be Saint Etienne's final album.

  • Really!? Nooo! For me, this album was up there with 'So Tough' (one of my all time favourites). I was looking forward to the next :(

  • Hmmmm.... we'll see. The same rumours appeared about Sound of Water and Finisterre being the last albums too.

What we do know is that Burnt Out Car gets released as a single in September 2008 (Xenomania remix), followed by a new Greatest Hits package and a 2nd single later this year - This Is Tomorrow. There is a also a gig coming up.

  • Gread, heard it on a Film, its great

  • Volver was fantastic!

  • Very good song and production. Nice melody.

  • Loved St ettienne from the early 90's, but have not heard much from then receently. Godd to see that they are still around, as good as ever. And Sarah is still soooooo gorgeous!!!

  • Great track! :-)

  • I love this song. I love this film. :)

  • I squealed, fangasm'd and started to sing along when I heard Saint Etienne in the middle of Volver...much to the chagrin of the people I was watching the movie with ^_^

  • thankkkk youu for posting this song, i was loking for it, I had no idea who sings it or the name of it, now i do

  • buy the album, it's perfect

  • Thanks för sending this vid! Love it!
