  • My choir sang this recently and we took it at a slower tempo, but I love this speed as well. Beautiful job!

  • excellent interpretation! =)

  • Fantastic rendition. I love this piece.

  • Like it! Like this tempo too. It isn't "mache trieste". Conductor knows! :)

  • TMC-Renaissance Period. I like that the choir sung it a little fast because it makes the song seem more upbeat.

  • I've heard more powerful versions, but this isn't bad at all.

  • if i make the acappella choir i tried out for, i get to sing this song. its so pretty :]

  • it was ok. but it was way too fast. many of the beautiful parts of this song were just sung over. and the italian was off as well

  • Absolutley beautiful, perhaps a a little fast for my liking (I did this piece once much slower at a state choir event)

  • That's nice! perfectly in tune, but too fast for my understanding... it has a lot of things that they are not listened when it is so fast. But in general is OK

  • I love this at a brisk tempo.

  • I absolutely love this piece, despite how hard it is!

  • I like it, it has good tuning, but it supposed to go slower "Tranquilamente" and I don't know if your music had any editor's indications regarding phrasing and diminuendos and crescendos. But the entrances are really clear, I like it, that's hard to do. I love this piece

  • That wouldn't be Monteverdi's indication.

  • Very beautiful. I love this piece--- this choir does it justice.

    The ending chord is fantastic.

  • A great piece, it's awesome in music and lyrics as well. Great performance bravo!

Un grande pezzo, meraviglioso sia per la musica che per le parole. Ottima interpretazione complimenti!

  • this choir sounds beautiful, amazing blend, perfectly in tune.

i feel like the line l'auro tua messagiara etc. should be much more legato (like the wind), but that is the only thing i didn't particularly like.

i sang this much slower with a choir, which i loved, but it's cool to hear it at this tempo as well.

  • I have no idea about the "right" tempo, but I like this one !

  • there sint supposed to be an actual tempo, the actual music dictates the tempo, also the directors interpretation. and i agree i like this one.

  • So good.

  • i loved the sound of the choir. too much soprano. even without the mic problem i can tell this choir has some belting sopranos

  • I actually had never heard this piece done at this tempo until the Texas all-state choir did it. It's different, but it does fit the style better. It's talking about the bubbling water, so it just seems like it should be a little faster...plus, it's a madrigal!!!

  • Agreeing 100% (and it's rather homophonic, too).

  • Ooh, just because of your pseudo, I went to your site, but you've put no picture :-)

  • Excellent...one of my favorite pieces. I think the sopranos are a little too loud, and the piece is a little fast- but not bad at all.

  • thanks for your comment! our conductor was really focused on doing it faster than it's normally done and i must say i see the delight in it, some parts become really interesting with this speed while others come better to their right in a slower pace. But it was a true joy singing it this way!

and the microphones at the live recording unfortunately picked up the sopranos a bit to much.

  • @m134e5 the speed is kind of fast, but the sops are suposed to be louder than the others, its all about the dawn and sun coming up and everything coming into the light. dont forget there's also 1st and 2nd sops in here so there's twice the voice in the song. i like it too. i'm singing it for my advanced choir. 2nd sop right here. its kind of funny, the 2nds are higher than the 1sts through the whole song.

  • Wow, I've never heard this piece performed so fast.

  • That was pretty nice ^__^

  • A little bit faster than it should,I think, but nice.
