I am thoroughly impressed. The pathetic video I have on here of my truck is sad compared to this burnout. I'd really really like to see the motor on your truck. Mine is pretty much stock, but I did port the heads when I had to pull them for a head gasket replacement. My truck project has been very very slow and it is STILL a daily driver. I am inspired by your truck!

heres my ford, this just from a dead stop and not holding the brake down. Its a 460 with dove heads, tunnel ram 2x 660 hollys. Sorta a budget motor that runs like a son of a bitch for over 10 years now without having a valve cover pulled!

@MrTpengineer no. its a 73- 75. 76 and 77 have that style grill but the inserts will be square around the head light on the 76 and 77 and on the 77 the parking light lens is amber not clear.

I have a classic f100 with the 390 V8. I love these videos. Mostly because someone else is tearing up their stuff for a cool effect. The guy I worked with used to do just like in this video, almost every day leaving work. Still runs fine after all that abuse.

dude im a huge ford fan and all but why would you hold on the brake? just floor it. theres no point in holding on the brake. all it does is f**k up your tranny and rearend and brakes. i just bought a 79' f-150 with a 460 for $400 after it sat for three years and needed a carb, battery, ignition switch and brake work. now i have it running perfect. i can just punch it to the floor and it'll start smokin without the brake.

the 351m/400 engines were considered a mid block engine, not quite as big as the 385 series but built like a big block

They put c4's behind 351m/400 engines in the 70's. And as we all know, they use the big block bell housing also. So yes, a c4 can get put behind a 429/460 without problem.

The 400 wasn't technically a small block. Ford didnt just have a big and small block, since a windsor block was the smallest v8. I guess you could call it the "medium block"

this block is based on the 351 cleveland block (small block) . its the same block with an inch taller deck height to allow for a longer stroke. they put a larger crankshaft in it making it a 400 smallblock

Thats a very nice sounding truck you have. With open headers its hard to tell for sure what engine you have. I'm gonna take a stab at it and say its some type of FE or a 385 series engine. Do you have any track times or dyno numbers?

i think those years came with the 302 windsor or 351/400 modified, not to say it couldn't have a swap tho, honestly wouldn't be surprised if its a 302!...all ford v8's sound mean as hell, specially the 385's!

With that grill, it *should* be a 73-77. I've seen some with 390's, up til 75 I think and then they switched to the 351m/400 series. But the camper special F150's came with 460's right from the factory, so that would be an easy drop in too. I agree that all Ford v8's sound awesome, but I'm partial to a stroked Cleveland!!!!
