  • abrupt ending

  • What does "fok" mean exactly in Icelandic?

  • WHY DID YOU HAVE TO END!!!!!!!????

  • There are times in life when I feel absolutely lost and confused. It seems as if I'm always searching for something that doesn't even exist. But for some reason when I hear songs like this, for the moment, it doesn't feel like I need anything more.

  • and finally life got a meaning.....

  • Saw Ólafur and his group perform last night in Paris.... Awesome! Real music from a musician who is in touch with some of the more elevated planes.

  • Hi! I am that guy that loves metal, and nothing else. Wears black shirts mostly, long hair, dislike most genres.

This is music from the gods.

  • @bronckofag Lol im on the same boat as you man, bought a tear to my eye.

  • @bronckofag hurray im not the only one like that here

  • @bronckofag i was like you-black issill the color-but music just changed all my feelings i had in the past-this part of the tuzbe is so......

  • If all his "shit" sounds the same; you're not listening.

  • At 3:25 when the music starts to pick up... Wow. I never want it to end. The whole piece is amazing <3

  • this. song.

  • So fok'ing good

  • everytime i hear this piece, im lifted from my worries, olafur, your a genius. the best composer by far

  • Very nice work. I really enjoy this piece. It awakening my choreography.

  • Heard *Fok* performed on PRI's Echoes this past week - was blown away! Hoping Mr. Arnalds comes to New York's Capital Region to play at a cool venue like Rensselaer Polytechnic's EMPAC center. - Larry, Clifton Park, New York

  • I think I've just fallen in love.

  • Fok me.

  • Its a she!!

  • this is the next big thing.

  • @tokyorose999 I fucking hope so.

  • f great, God like

  • the more I listen to his works, the more it gives to me. The songs are getting deeper and deeper. I've heard a lot of beautiful music, but this has never happened to me before. some classical composers' works need lots of listening to actually understand but you can get the whole after a while and it's there, it's yours. Ólafur's ones don't seem to have an end like that. do you feel it too?

  • Two people have to go FOK themselves....

  • Olafur Arnalds, I may have never lived a full life if I had not felt the whisp of your music upon my soul.

  • hearing this beautiful music makes me feel lucky to be alive. lucky to have access to such beauty. beauty like this cannot be measured, it can not be explained, it can not be taught, it comes from within, deep from within..

  • I love this.

  • i love this music...

  • 2 people, are just... dumb.

  • After this song, play Johnny Cash's "We'll Meet Again" Powerful combo.

  • 2 Dislikes, I didn't know that was possible on music by Olafur Arnalds.

  • luv it so much

  • Foking amazing.

  • flet like my ear were dancing

  • this is cool

i only listened to either hiphop or rock

    but

    this is just cool.

i love asian instrumentals beatiful makes me calm

this song is not just an asian style music

but also mixed some drums semi style ~ cool beats :) love it !

  • @goodaiyai Oralfur played drums in a pretty good Icelandic hardcore band called "Fighting Shit". really. He is a stupidly talented man

  • im only 13 and have been introduced into classical music i think its amazing.

  • @11134566778 Same here. :) I think Classical music isn't boring, its amesome!

  • I generally don't like waiting a whole minute for a song to start but like a good book it pays in the end.

  • TRULY AMAZING

  • absolutely stunning...

complete sound colours, strings give this song the right mood.

    love it!

  • agreed, enjoy it or move on but listen to 3055, that is a beautiful song

  • i'm a guy and this is the first time i cried in one year. never felt something like this before after listening a song

  • Masterpiece

  • Reminds me of some of the music from the soundtrack to the file The Fountain. Think all the music was by the Kronas Quartet and Clint Mansell. Has a bit of Sigur Ros in it as well. All in all, am rather happy to have found this on an otherwise boring Monday evening!

  • Simply beautiful.

  • I want to run into the wild with this song playing from the sky

  • Unfortunately, part of enjoying Youtube is coming across immature individuals who readily display their ignorance for all to see. Rather, they are to be pitied and passed over, for nothing you can say or do will make a difference to these retched lot. It would be like trying to explain the theory of relativity to an ameoba.

  • eres perfecto!!!!!!!

  • fantastic. I can feel my heart beat when i listen...

  • @redninja2010 i guess for him when he used to be in two different hardcore bands as their drummer some of his songs he writes / wrote can have some meanings as Fuck, ass, and something like that. but who knows.

  • @redninja2010 Fuck.

  • How could you say this is shit... Is'nt your genre is it? Well, normally, I listen to the sickest, most depressive(and atmospheric) black metal, among other genres(death metal, (black) ambient, etc.), but this kind of music also achieves to touch my heart.. These are profound, delicate emotions... How in the world could you insult such wonderful pieces of work like this... I even bought "Found Songs" some time ago.. Still need to find some other albums!! Support this artist. -T.

  • @Pagantones i listen to the same music and i agree this music is amazing

  • it is true when i hear that Ólafur Arnalds did all the intro's and stuff for Heaven Shall Burn????????? if so, they've just gain much more respect.

  • @OHNOESindeed yeah its true.

  • his music has a way of speaking to your soul without having to use words.

    im in love.

  • I've put my vocals on this song, it would be very very helpfull if you guys would check it out and share your straightforward, honest opinion.

    Thankyou.

PS: Thankyou for uploading this, this was the first song I ever sung to. the piano unleashed something I did not knew the existence of.

  • makes me feel all warm inside...:)

  • keyboards are for pussies.. oldschool instruments make the crowd clapp their hands...

  • It appears to be Dutch for "foresail".

  • this song is simply genius i love the subtle deep bass, the harmony of the violins, its a modern day masterpiece! It taps into my emotions and with every note i feel it more and more as it draws me in, it's genius!!

  • ...great...

  • I just love it...

  • This song is absolutely brilliant! The way it starts with only a few intruments playing, and ends with a harmony of different sounds works so well. This song makes me feel lots of emotion.

  • His music Isn't shit. If you're an actual musician then your music represents all of your emotions. Calling someone's music shit is the same as calling that person shit. I'm sure if Olafur saw your comment, it would hurt. I'm sure you might not have meant it that way, but please have some consideration while posting about other people's art. Thank you and good day.

  • @KrakenKingKong then don't listen to it.

  • @KrakenKingKong You've also posted this on different videos of this music, so all you're doing is trying to advertise how much of an ass you are. Learn some respect for other people or gtfo.

  • If you had a better understanding of music, then maybe it wouldn't to you. It employs different rhythms, dynamics, notes, and many other things. It most all uses similar instruments and no voice, so to someone who listens primarily to more popular genres may not be able to sense the differences between in his pieces. Personally I really enjoy his style of composition.

  • @LightThisCityVII I'm pretty sure he wouldn't care and just sign the person off as another mainstream conformist.

  • @LightThisCityVII haha beast reply! finally a completely sensible person talking with understanding. so rare!

  • @LightThisCityVII you are a fucking ass licker hahaha ... go cut yourself again.

  • @D9v9g9

I hope your comment is a joke xD

  • @LightThisCityVII

    Well-said! <3~

  • @LightThisCityVII

    Well-said! <3~

  • @LightThisCityVII Very well said!

Just cause someone prefers a different type of music than what he heard doesn't make it 'shit', its simply 'not-my-type'.

  • @LightThisCityVII If this music is shit, I will eat shit everyday!

  • @LightThisCityVII - Well said, dear! Thank you for you call to dignity, honor, and respect. 1<3

  • @KrakenKingKong Please die. Thanks.

  • AHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! sorry that comment just had me in hysterics XD

  • @KrakenKingKong That's because it has a similar tone because he actually writes his own music. People who don't like brittany spears and other crap pop artists can have music that sounds nothing like another song cause the people who write it for them aren't the same people every time. Hell, as if most pop artists can even actually sing anymore, let alone write music.

  • for the betterment of life<3

  • nice ..

  • brilliant ^.^

  • Everyone shhh - just enjoy this

  • @bcbird

  • Great music.

  • przeswietlona wyobraznia

  • The comments speak for themselves, friend.

  • Nope. That's just tired.

  • the constant need to dumb down the world is beguiling but, and I mean this kindly, using the stuff between your ears to listen to the stuff going into them is in this case more than justified. This is composed and thematic and deserves all the success it will get.... (Now you can flame me...)

  • leaves me speechless

  • The strings of "Fok" reminds me a lot of the embellishments and swells of Farewell Kingdom-era World's End Kingdom, the piano is close to Peter Broderick's latter work.

  • pity i don´t know all the superlatives in english - I would use them all for this track - i love that feeling which i have while listening of this ...

  • it started like awoken
