@MrHenkesFTW. because of instincts. if an object is heading in your direction your body's reaction is to react to the potential 'threat'. in this case hitting the ball away....think about it if a spider jumped at you to attack you wouldn't let it do that your reaction would be to murder the fucker or jump out the way or even both! also to get the timing right and a decent connection/hit the chances of that happening are pretty slim. even if it was fake its still a decent trick shot.

An amazing golf shot, but you can clearly see that this was planned. Pause the video at 6 seconds, not many golfers turn that head when they shoot, and this guy turned his head a lot, he was clearly looking at the ball that you threw. Still a good shot though.
