I don't think that's true. There would need to be some sort of extenuating circumstances for there to be significant consequences, such as:

1) Trying to cover it up

2) If the daughter would get pregnant and then abort

3) They couldn't identify who the father was or the father was a criminal of some sort

4) Pregnant child being disowned by parents
