i am going to post one last comment. don't comment me about the click track. i have already known this before any comments were sent to me. i found out the same week i posted.
the way my band did it was you make a track that has just the backing track panned 90% right, then on the full left is a click track with the backing track playing softly below it so the drummer could keep in tempo too.
thanks. i just pan the click to the left ear in some head phones for my friend mike, and the rest comes out l mono from the speakers so the audience doesn't here the track. i use protools and it works just fine. you don't have to waste your money on some crazy sampler or whatever. but thanks for the info.
@chadinterrupted in my personal experience, the band has to be very tight -- as was said before -- but the computer is plugged into the pa system and just plays the synth and techno stuff to the crowd. The drummer probably wears a monitor system that just plays the click. With practice it becomes easier but syncing them all together takes alot of time.
@chadinterrupted The laptop is playing both click track and the audio track together, but they are sent out on different panned sides.. in other words let's say the click is sent out through the left channel.. then the track is sent out through the right channel and then goes to the board...then ultimately to the house speakers. the left channel with the click would go to the drummer and whoever else in the band wants click track. That's how I do it, except i use an iPod instead of a laptop.
@chadinterrupted i figured that out a long time ago. the same day i left that comment but thanks. i am sure your comment would have been more helpful. lol. i use a laptop. but my only question is, is how do you do it with an 8th inch from an ipod. i use the interface to split the signal.
@chadinterrupted yeah, he plays to a click track. (in ear monitors with a metronome) and they use a software called "LIVE" by i think propellerhead? (could be wrong on the maker, but thats the right name). so when the drummers on time, everyone else can follow that, thus having the program on time to the drummer. @whatfuckingever444 was right on :]
@geeeetarrrr0607 yes i know now but thank you. the way i do it, is split the signal l mono and r, so the the instruments panned to mono will come through the speakers and the click track will be panned right to the drummers ear, but one question that i do have, is, is there a di box i can use to split that signal, because protools clips sometimes and it would be way better to use a wav file on itunes? i need to split the signal somehow.
@mooktank that comment was 6 months ago. i know pretty much every form of being able to do achieve this now. but thanks. and it was still vague. i use panning. click panned right, and music panned Lmono.
@chadinterrupted the keyboards and beats and stuff are paned one way and there is a clicktrack that is panned the other way and the clicktrack goes into his ear and all the stuff goes into the system
ummm actually, you're both wrong, Jerry does the singing, Micah does the screams at the part "and bury yourself beneath the smoke" and "and she can escape while there's still hope". Don't know who or where you got that from, but Micah doesn't sing in Oh, Sleeper, the guitarist Shane does.
@xaviahz ya dude...it sounds like he's not changing his technique enough for clean vocals. So he's still kind of yelling which is why there are intonation and tone issues. Screams are pretty good though!
im SOOO jealous even though i havent heard any eyes set to kill sky eats airplane is obv. good live in the vid attack attack! is AMAZING live i saw them at warped and i still want to see in fear and faith too

You have to be a really tight band to pull it off. The drummer wears an earpiece so he can hear the back track and plays along in time.
